Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ADIL Update

Adial Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ADIL

It has been an absolutely awful end to 2018, with a market bloodbath beginning roughly six weeks ago and amounting to perhaps the worst conditions we’ve seen in a decade. Despite that fact, with most big-board stock hovering at or near their annual lows, we have still managed to find a few plays that have bucked the trend.

One such stock is ADIL, which we signaled a couple weeks back on the morning of the 13th. That day, the stock was trading for as little as 2.55 a share. It has mainly experienced bullish activity even as everything around it has been going the opposite way. On Monday ADIL reached a new high of 5.75, marking a move of 125% in a span of two weeks.

Aemetis, Inc. AMTX

If you’re searching for a bottom play, you won’t have far to look in this market, as we just mentioned above. However, among all these bottom-feeding stocks we’ve got AMTX, which has a compelling reason to perhaps begin to recover some ground.

This morning, the company announced a huge round of non-toxic funding which is going to allow it to begin implementing a key element of its strategy in the New Year. We’re going to place AMTX on watch into 2019, especially with the company having a conference call scheduled for the second week in January. Things could get interesting between now and then thanks to this morning’s news.

CUPERTINO, CA, Dec. 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) Aemetis, Inc. (AMTX) announced today that its subsidiary, Aemetis Biogas LLC, closed a $30 million equity investment without any dilute stock issuance by Aemetis, Inc. and funded the first $8.3 million tranche to subsidiary Aemetis Biogas to build, own and operate dairy biomethane digesters, pipelines and gas cleanup/compression facilities primarily under 20-year agreements with dairy farms in California (>>View Full PR)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: HEMP Update

Hemp, Inc. HEMP

Because of the absolute bloodbath having been experienced by the market of late, it is easy to forget the huge development for those with vested interests in hemp, the male form of the cannabis plant. Of course, one of its biggest proponents for quite some time has been the aptly named, Hemp, Inc.

The recent passing of the farm bill that effectively green-lighted the hemp industry nationwide is a game changer, and it certainly showed up on the chart, which experienced a heck of a spike. Following our alert on HEMP from just a few weeks ago, the stock ran from .0292 up as high as .054, a move of 85%

There has been some pullback since then, but in general HEMP is a stock that we’re going to be very interested in tracking into the New Year. There is a golden cross setup in the works for the chart, so we could be looking at the next leg-up sooner rather than later.

The company has talked a big talk when it comes to federal legalization, and now that it has become a reality, we expect to see solid efforts from HEMP in 2019, starting with the cleaning up of its reporting status on OTC Markets.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NKE Options & More

Nike, Inc. NKE

We’re seeing a possible opportunity for NKE to close out the week today, despite the continued bearish activity for the markets at large. Like a lot of stocks, NKE is at its lowest prices in quite some time; in this case, seven months. But we are seeing the makings of a potential quick-strike play here, and we’d like to signal some options ideas to coincide with the present situation.

We;re going to focus in on the NKE Weekly $73-74 Calls after the company logged a beat on both earnings and revenues in its post-market release yesterday. Additionally the company provided stout guidance, so if anything has a chance to buck the trend and put forth a bullish session today, it would be Nike.

New Age Beverages, Inc. NBEV

Speaking of bucking the trend, NBEV, another anomalous performer that we’ve been tracking for quite some time has been flying in the face of current market sentiment for six weeks now.

When we high;lighted this stock on the morning of November 15th, it was trading for as little as 3.30, and after weeks of bullish sentiment, the stock has reached new highs at 6.90, which accounts for a move of 109%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Form-4 Alert & More

Options Updates

We offered up a couple of fresh options ideas in yesterday morning’s report, GIS Weekly $37.50 Calls, and the MU Weekly $31-32 Calls. Despite the markets taking yet another hit in the wake of the Fed’s interest rate hike, both of those ideas managed to produce some positive intraday movement prior to the announcement.

The GIS $37.50’s traded up from 1.31 to 1.80, for a modest 37% rise, but the MU calls did considerably better, logging multi-bag gain opportunities:

MU Weekly $31-32 Calls
$31 Puts – Range: 1.03-2.47 – Max Gain: 140%
$31.50 Puts – Range: .70-2.21 – Max Gain: 216%
$32 Puts – Range: .46-1.83 – Max Gain: 298%

Axovant Sciences Ltd. AXON – Form-4 Alert

We routinely keep an eye out for brow-raising insider trading activity, and have run across AXON today. A trio of stakeholders filed Form-4’s on Tuesday alluding to the purchase of a total of $30M in AXON stock in three $10M transactions, at the current relative lows near a dollar. That amounts to over a quarter of the company’s total market value.

To us, this would seem a fairly big indicator that these institutional investors are very confident that the stock will not fall below these levels. We’ll go ahead and place AXON on an extended term bottom-watch into the New Year.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DRI Recap & More

General Mills, Inc. GS

First up today, we are taking a look at General Mills following the company’s solid quarterly figures on earnings and profits released here in the premarket.

The stock itself has gotten badly beaten up recently, as have most stocks in what is shaping up to be a very turbulent finish to 2018. However, the strong numbers reported could be just the catalyst to effect a convincing reversal. We’re going to be waiting in the wings with our eye on the GIS Weekly $37.50 Calls to try to take advantage of the situation.

Darden Restaurants, Inc. DRI

We highlighted some calls in the DRI chain yesterday, the DRI Weekly $95-105 Calls. Of those three sets of contracts, we got some very nice activity from two out of the three. While the $95’s were too far in the money, the $100’s and the $105’s fared quite well.

The $100 Calls traded up from a low of 2.85 and hit an even 5.00 for a gain of 75% and the  $105’s surged from .65-1.60, producing a gain opportunity of up to 146%
