Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Bonanza!

OPTIONS UPDATES

Shoe Carnival, Inc. SCVL- Fresh for yesterday morning’s premarket report was an idea for the Shoe Carnival options chain, in response to the company’s post-market earnings beat from Tuesday afternoon. We cited the SCVL 04/18 $35-40 Calls as being most attractive to us, and we met with some solid success on day one.

With the help of a move out of the stock from 35.00-37.72, we saw significant movement from each of our designated strike prices. The $35 Calls saw a low of 1.56 and reached a high of 3.50, which represents a max gain possibility of 124%  while the $40s impressively ran 233% from .30-1.00.

A strong close for SCVL indicates a very plausible chance at seeing even more gains in the near-term, so we’ll continue to track the activity here.
_____

Centene Corp. CNC – Along with the SCVL idea, we also floated a longer-term one for CNC that produced instantaneous results. We had targeted the CNC 09/20 $50-55 Calls and despite such a lengthy period remaining until expiration, we saw some excellent volatility there in just a single session.

The $50 Calls traded up from 1.80 to 3.50, a gain of 94% while the $55 Calls ripped a big gain  from .31-1.05, which works out to an intraday pop of 239%

Lululemon Athletica LULU

We also want to issue a fresh idea for LULU this morning after the company’s own post-market quarterly financials drop, which included a big earnings beat and some enticing guidance for the remainder of the year. The stock is surging to all-time highs in the premarket, and we don’t want to get caught sitting on our hands when the lid blows.

We’re going to radar the LULU Weekly $162.50-170 Calls, which could end up seeing some serious gain activity over the next session or two.

Apple, Inc. AAPL -Options Idea

Apple has been getting beaten back over the past several sessions, even as the company unveiled new product upgrades in Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and the Goldman Sachs/Mastercard-powered Apple Card. We will look for a rebound on the heels of some relief in the Apple camp over the company’s international dispute with Qualcomm currently under review at the International Trade Commission.

We’re going to radar the AAPL Weekly $187.50-190 Calls and track the activity there for the rest of the week. The stock has been especially volatile on a daily basis over the past week, as compared to the previous couple of months. It could lead to some sizable opportunities for us.

More Fresh Ideas

Shoe Carnival, Inc. SCVL – The setup on Shoe Carnival couldn’t be much better at the moment. The stock had come down to its lowest prices since last year prior to yesterday’s big post-market earnings beat.

We are going to want to put some contracts in this chain on watch as well- particularly, the SCVL 04/18 $35-40 Calls.
_____

Centene Corp. CNC – Centene just got pushed down well below what appeared to be a strong double bottom, and is now trading at new 52-week lows. We’re going to begin monitoring on a longer-term basis for an eventual recovery, with the CNC 09/20 $50-55 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Stock Updates

Catalyst Pharma Inc. CPRX

We saw a very impressive new high for a stock that we’ve been tracking off of a bottom since February 8th. CPRX traded for as little as 2.36 that day, and has never looked back, spending most of the 7 weeks since then in a general uptrend that really kicked into high gear yesterday.

The stock ultimately reached 5.25 before closing just a penny below that point. That works out to an upswing of 122% in well under two months’ time.

Axsome Therapuetics, Inc. AXSM

Speaking of stock runners, we called out AXSM for observation just last Thursday, and wanted to drop back in on it to comment regarding its performance thus far. From a low of 11.75 on Thursday morning, the stock has now reached as high as 16.38. That’s a relatively modest but still very respectable gain of 39% in a span of just three sessions.

Options Reviews

General Mills, Inc. GIS – We were looking at the General Mills chain beginning
on Wednesday morning, when we designated the GIS 04/18 $47.50-50 Calls as targets of interest for the week. We got some very nice profit opportunities out of that set, with plenty of time for the possibility to realize further gains.  The $47.50 Calls rose from a low of 1.40-3.55, an upswing of 154% The $50’s traded in a range from .27-1.47, which works out to a huge jump of 444%
_____

Darden Restaurants, Inc. DRI  – On Thursday morning, we added the DRI 04/18 $115 Calls to our pool of ideas, and those really made a splash as well. In the two session span following our alert, we witnessed a move up from a low of 1.15 to a high of 4.30. That represents a rapid increase of 274%
_____

Revlon, Inc. REV – Finally, on Friday, we continued our streak of new ideas with an extended-term idea on Revlon. A pair of big insider buys was what led us to place these on watch. We’ll continue to track the REV 08/16 $22.50-25 Calls. For Friday, they each managed modest increases, with the $22.50’s running from 2.55-2.90 (+14%) and the $25’s going from 1.25-2.00 (+60%). These will be on our radar for quite some time, but got off to a nice start.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: REV Form-4 Alert

General Mills, Inc. GIS

Tracking back to an idea we formulated on Wednesday morning, the GIS 04/18 $47.50-50 Calls, we saw some really nice activity in those contracts thanks to a bullish session for the markets on the whole.

Both of our designated targets managed to post multi-bag gains. The $47.50 Calls made a nice swing from 1.40-2.85, representing a gain of 104% The $50’s fared even better, trading in a range from .27-.94, an increase of 248%

Darden Restaurants, Inc. DRI

For a fresh idea yesterday, we went with the DRI 04/18 $115 Calls and saw a solid performance there as well. This set of contracts turned up with an even double-bagger as they ran from a low of 1.15, and reached a 3.30 high.

As is the case with many of the plays we selected this week, there’s still plenty of time remaining until expiration, so the possibility of seeing further useful activity down the line is not out of the question.

Revlon, Inc. REV – Form-4 Alert

Speaking of plenty of time, we are going to go farther out with this next fresh idea than we are typically accustomed to going. This idea could theoretically be in play for the next 5 months. We’ll track the REV 08/16 $22.50-25 Calls.

This is after noticing the stock recovering from a recent severe beating, in unison with Form-4 filings indicating the purchase of over $7M in stock by a REV insider on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, as the stock was flagging heavily.
