Blue Horseshoe Stocks: GIGL Explodes & More

Giggles N’ Hugs, Inc. GIGL

We were exceptionally pleased with the performance of GIGL after including it in Friday’s premarket report, and our timing really couldn’t have been any better. The stock had been trading sideways for months, without so much as a spike, yet it still broke out for a monstrous single-session move.

GIGL traded up from an early low of .0053, smashed through the penny barrier, and hurtled its way to an impressive high of .024. That worked out to an intraday push of 353% and it came on record volume.

For those reasons, we’ll certainly be ready to continue monitoring the activity in this play. We’ll of course allow for the possibility of some course correction, but the odds of seeing either a continued increase, or a dip-and-rip scenario, seem reasonably high at this point.

LIG Assets, Inc. LIGA

We also got a pretty good performance out of LIGA, which was another inclusion from Friday’s report. The move didn’t quite rise to the magnitude of the aforementioned stock, it did attain double-bagger status with a significant gain opportunity.

From a low of .001, we watched as LIGA shot to a high of .0022 inside of the first two hours of trading. That was good for quick gains of up to 120%    Perhaps just as importantly, the stock maintained more than half of its daily advance, so we’ll be keeping an eye peeled in sessions to come.

Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, Inc. MACK

We also want to draw attention to MACK this morning, a stock that we haven’t visited in quite some time. Following the establishment of a new 52-week (and indeed, a three year) low on Friday, a bombshell development hit wires this morning and is really causing a stir.

PPS has increased considerably in premarket trading as the company announced that it has sold a pancreatic cancer drug, among other assets, for a cool billion dollars. (>>View PR)

Whenever a major catalytic event such as this transpires, we always like to monitor the situation on the tail end. Hypothetically, a return to its pricing from around this time last year, from this point, would carry a gain of around 100%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NUGT Options Recap & More

Direxion Daily Gold Miners Bull 3X ETF (NUGT)

NUGT has been on a fairly consistent rise for the past few weeks along with gold itself, and we were able to use the continuation of that trend to our extreme advantage yesterday.

We dropped a quick options idea for the NUGT Weekly $9-9.50 Calls into our watchlist, stipulating that we’d need to see a break of the 50DMA. We got what we were looking for, and the potential gains that followed were substantial.

$9 Calls – Range: .56-1.53 – Max Gain: 173%
$9.50 Calls – Range: .30-1.07 – Max Gain: 257%

Chat reminder: Also, we noticed the magnitude of the activity was going to allow for gains to made at higher increments, so we also suggested rolling up to the $10 Calls shortly after the open. Those ended up running 172% from from .25-.68.

We were just mentioning the benefits of our daily traders chats the other day, and here we have a fine example of why reading our premarket reports can be greatly augmented by participating in our in-session chats as well. Again, just send a Skype contact request to ‘stocksumo’ if you wish to join us!  Any of our readers are welcome!

TransEnterix Inc. TRXC – Insider Buying

We noticed a filing for a huge $5.2M insider position increase on TRXC at a price of 1.40, which coincides closely with recent relative lows, and isn’t too far above the stock’s annual low. We’ll be very interested to follow along with this stock after such a vote of confidence from an existing investor.  (>>View Filings)

Added Note: Speaking of insider trading plays, we also wanted to add a quick reminder on the one we submitted yesterday in STON. The stock made modest headway in continuing its established uptrend with a light 8% increase on the day, and will continue to be on our radars moving forward.

Immune Pharmaceuticals, Inc. IMNP

Additionally, we have a reminder to put out on IMNP, which we put on bottom-watch in our report dated December 27th. It took roughly a week of sideways trading for the stock to begin to perk its head up, but yesterday it began to gain some ground so we just wanted to remind readers that we still have this one on our viewscreens.

Options Updates

S&P 500 ETF (SPY) –
We tagged the SPY 11/23 $218.50-220 Calls for observation on Monday, and wanted to circle back around to relay the excellent moves it went on to make.

$218.50 Calls– Range: .90-2.24 – Max Gain: 149%
$219 Calls – Range: .58-1.83 – Max Gain: 216%
$219.50 Calls – Range: .35-1.30 – Max Gain: 271%
$220 Calls – Range: .19-.89 – Max Gain: 368%

Keep in mind that trading these today would essentially be akin to trading normal weekly contracts on a Friday, a risky venture that we always warn is to be attempted only by advanced traders.

______

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – PBR was the subject of another idea we formulated on Monday morning, and it too provided the activity we needed to see our highlighted targets post some solid performances. Our contracts of interest here were the PBR Weekly $9.50-10.50 Calls
and while they didn’t move quite as much as the SPY calls, the potential gains were still significant.

$9.50 Calls– Range: .68-1.00 – Max Gain: 47%
$10 Calls – Range: .30-.54 – Max Gain: 80%
$10.50 Calls – Range: .08-.21 – Max Gain: 163%

Unlike the aforementioned play, these contracts don’t expire until the end of the Friday’s half session (1PM).

Clean Coal Technologies, Inc. CCTC

The characteristic volatility that we’ve come to expect from CCTC showed it face this week, as the stock turned the bottom-bounce from the end of last week into a multi-day run that has persisted ever since.

We placed the stock on watch earlier this month, and after a short period of consolidation it finally established a base at .105, before running to yesterday’s new high of .2835. That marked a upswing totaling 170%

We’ll look for the possibility of a breach of the 200DMA currently sitting at .302, a break past which point would send the stock into blue skies, while keeping in mind that the volatility we mentioned could come into play. We’ll need to be open to the chance of the stock consolidating again before gearing up for another run. One thing’s for sure, the rapidity with which this play can cover large amounts of ground on the chart makes it worthy of continued observation.
