Blue Horseshoe Stocks: TBIO Recap & More

Transgenomic, Inc. TBIO

After noticing the stock’s significant premarket bullishness, we placed TBIO in yesterday morning’s report, and it’s a good thing that we did. It responded with a meteoric rise on the day en route to a very strong close.

TBIO traded in a daily range from a low of .67 up as high as 1.27, making intraday gains of up 90% possible, and the activity came on a torrent of volume, in the neighborhood of more than 37X the 3-month average volume.

TBIO continued to plow upward in post-market trading, and this morning has changed hands for as much as 1.64 a share in the premarket. Given the present circumstances, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see the stock attain new highs once again today.

Puration, Inc. PURA

We were also keeping an eye on PURA, listing it in yesterday’s watchlist, and the stock recorded a modest yet solid session. On roughly eight times the monthly average, it traded up from a low of  .037 to .0482, a 30% increase.

PURA has been on a fairly steady upswing for most of this month so far, yesterday’s activity just being an extension of that pattern, so we’ll be on the lookout for a continuation of that current trend.

Ampliphi Biosciences Corp. APHB

We want to signal APHB as a possible bottom-bounce play this morning. Between it just showing a flicker of life off of recent relative lows, and the fact that it was trading at triple its current value just three months ago, we definitely want to keep this one on watch.

We’ve included a snap of the current chart, which illustrates what we’re talking about. This has the potential to become a solid recovery play in the days and/or weeks ahead.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: LLY Options Recap & More

Eli Lilly and Co. LLY – Options Update

In our premarket report on Friday morning, we finished off with a set of fresh options ideas for the LLY chain, and were met with nice gain opportunities on the day on all accounts.

In addition to a daytrading idea with the LLY Weekly $72 and $72.50 Calls, which worked out in spades, we also got some really good initial movement out of the longer term target we put forth, the 01/20 $75 Calls.

Weekly $72 Calls – Range: .20-1.25  – Max Gain: 475%
Weekly $72.50 Calls – Range: .15-.80  – Max Gain: 433%
1/20 $75 Calls – Range: .77-1.39  – Max Gain: 81%

We offer congratulations to anyone who benefited from the short-term ideas, and we’ll be sure to stay on the trail of those 01/20 $75 Calls in the weeks ahead.

Globalstar, Inc. GSAT

We caught a glimpse of GSAT on our scanner this morning and feel it’s worthy of mentioning, based on a number of factors. Last week, the moves that the stock had been making off of its recent relative lows in the low .70-range began to increase.

On Thursday, the stock bullishly breached its 50DMA, culminating in a huge spike in volume on Friday. Roughly six times the monthly average trading volume accompanied a break of the dollar mark. We’re going to put this on watch as a possible momentum play.

AmpliPhi BioSciences, Inc. APHB

Speaking of bottom-bouncers, APHB cropped on our scan as well, and it has a look of high potential as it’s coming up off of its recently established annual lows.

In addition, there’s a gap to fill on the chart to the upside, and with the stock already trading up in the premarket, that’s a real possibility here. With such a ripe chart, we’ll be very interested to follow APHB’s activity out of the gate this morning.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ASTI, TEUFF Reviews & More

Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. ASTI

We’ve been quite familiar with ASTI in the past, and circled back around to it yesterday morning, in time to catch what was ultimately one heck of a solid session.

We had noticed it recently producing some bottom-bounce action, along with a huge increase in volume and they proved to be huge indicators of a continued surge. The stock traded in a range from .051-.0779, for a healthy 53% jump, and maintained well over half of that gain into the close at .074.

We’ll definitely want to see ASTI take a run at its previous swing highs of .085 and .119, followed by the 50DMA of .13, as pointed out in the chart snapshot here:

Time Warner, Inc. TWX – Options Update

We brought an options trading idea to the table yesterday morning in the wake of an earnings beat for Time Warner, the TWX Weekly $77-79 Calls, and every set of contracts in the range performed really well, with each one yielding a multi-bag gain opportunity on the day.

$77 Calls – Range: .76-2.06 – Max Gain: 171%
$77.50 Calls – Range: .59-1.57 – Max Gain: 166%
$78 Calls – Range: .37-1.37 – Max Gain: 270%
$78.50 Calls – Range: .20-.65 – Max Gain: 225%
$79 Calls – Range: .09-.69 – Max Gain: 422%

With news hitting in the post-market yesterday that TWX will be taking up a 10% stake in Hulu, it will be interesting to see how the activity unfolds from here.

Box Ships, Inc. TEUFF

Another inclusion in yesterday’s premarket report was TEUFF, which, similar to ASTI, was in the midst of a spike in upward momentum off of a recent bottom. We were banking on seeing some of that carry over into yesterday’s session, and that’s just what happened.

TEUFF traded up from a low of .018 and hit .0276; another 53% intraday gainer for what was a very productive day all around.
