Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Closing Out a Strong Week

Kandi Technologies Group Inc. KNDI – Recap

On Wednesday morning, we were looking at a pair of contracts in the KNDI options chain. We did see multi-bag gains out of those as mentioned in yesterday’s morning report, but perhaps just as big of a story is the move that KNDI stock itself managed in the two sessions since that alert.

From a low of 7.16 Wednesday morning, to yesterday’s high of 9.21, KNDI has managed to rattle off a 29% session-over-session increase. That’s a heck of a two-day swing for a $7+ stock, and will keep our interest as we close out the week.

This move was catalyzed by the US approval of two of the Chinese company’s electric vehicles.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the domestic go-ahead to KNDI’s Model EX3 and Model K22 electric cars.

Dominos Pizza, Inc. DPZ – Recap

We went bearish with some Dominos Puts yesterday, following a particularly bad quarterly release by the company in yesterday’s premarket earnings dump. Earning and revs were big misses, with same store sales making only a marginal jump.

We signaled our interest in tracking the DPZ Weekly $270-260 Puts and both of those sets of contracts recorded solid intraday moves to the upside, of which traders could have taken advantage. The $270 Puts ran from 12.02 to 20.50, marking a 71% rip, while the $260 surged even more, trading in a range from 4.99-12.84 for an intraday gain of 177%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DG Recap & More

Dollar General Corp. DG

We selected a wide range of puts in the DG chain on Tuesday morning, the DG Weekly $109-103 Puts following the company’s earnings release, wherein it lowered its outlook for the year. Despite a sales beat, shares slid considerably. With the help of an overall market downtrend in which the Dow took an 800 point hit, every set of contracts we selected made multi-bag gains.

$108 Puts – Range: 1.76-5.80 – Max Gain: 230%
$107 Puts – Range: 1.25-4.40 – Max Gain: 252%

Fresh Idea:
MIK Weekly $15 & 17.50 Calls

Aphria, Inc. APHA

We’ve had an eye on Aphria, and indeed the whole Canadian cannabis market, for years.  Having previously been traded under the symbol APHQF on the OTC Markets, the Canadian cannabis company now trades on the NYSE and bills itself as a drug manufacturer in the healthcare industry.

As a result of allegations against the company, the stock has taken a severe beating in recent sessions. We’re going to begin to observe more closely as a potential bottom bounce play in the days and weeks ahead, as it has reached the point of being heavily oversold with a huge short interest. We’ll want to be hanging around when the shorts start to get squeezed.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: HSY Options & More

The Hershey Co. HSY

We’re looking at one of the biggest players in the Halloween candy game in Hershey as we kick off a fresh trading week. The company reported its Q3 earnings on Thursday, and despite a frosty reception from Wall Street, we are liking the look of this play.

The company asserts that it is on a good path, having had what the CEO calls a game changing year. While the stock did see its biggest daily loss since 2016 on Thursday following the report, it did not turn into a multi-day slide. Coupled with what looks to be another rebound day for the markets at large, and we’re interested in signaling a few HSY Calls.

We’ll place the HSY Weekly $102-104 Calls on watch this morning.

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY)

On Tuesday, we noted that with such a sharp and rapid downturn in the markets, that a rebound was certain to be in the cards for the SPY. It led us to signal interest in the SPY 10/31 $275-277 Calls, which will certainly be in play today as the SPY is gapping up big this morning in the premarket.

We’ll be back tomorrow morning with a recap of what is likely to be a cleanup session for these plays today.
