Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DIS, TRXC Recaps & More

 TransEnterix, Inc. TRXC

We made a good catch when we included TRXC in yesterday morning’s premarket report, after it was reported that the company’s robotic surgery device got the regulatory approval it needed.

The result was a very nice run from a low of  2.15 to 3.05, the highest PPS the stock has seen since the spring of 2016. That works out to an intraday push of 42% and this morning TRXC is edging even higher in before-hours trading, so we’ll want to continue to keep an eye on it moving forward.

Walt Disney Co. DIS

We highlighted some options ideas for Disney yesterday morning, after noticing that it had  a nice bottom setup on the chart, trading near its ten-month lows.

For a near-term idea we signaled the DIS Weekly $96-98 Calls and among those five contracts, three produced opportunities for solid single-session gains.

$97 Calls – Range: 1.15-1.57 – Max Gain: 37%
$97.50 Calls – Range: .81-1.22  – Max Gain: 51%.
$98 Calls – Range: .49-.89 – Max Gain: 82%

We also noticed that the $98.50s had the highest open interest, so we will want to roll up our observed range a little and keep an eye on those for the remainder of the week.

Netflix, Inc. NFLX

We also want to put a few options contracts in the NFLX chain on watch. The stock has been in a general uptrend for nearly all of 2017, with the exception of one month between late July and late August. Currently the stock is approaching extreme overbought levels on the strength index just as it was prior to that downturn.

On the flip side, boosted guidance and a strong earnings call this morning could make things interesting. Due to these opposing factors, we’re going to want to watch some contracts on both sides of the fence, depending on NFLX’s behavior once regular market hours kick in.

If the stock can’t get above $207.50, we’re going to zero in on the NFLX Weekly $207.50 and $205 Puts. Conversely, if it holds above $200 on any pullbacks, we’ll focus on the Weekly $200-205 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: RAS Update, Options & More

RAIT Financial Trust RAS

RAS was a point of focus in yesterday’s premarket report. We highlighted it as a stock that had been hammered back for the better part of the past two months, which was long overdue for a rebound.

Timing just doesn’t get any better, with RAS having just registered a brand new 52-week low in the previous session, the reversal we were after occurred as the stock traded in a daily range from a low of 2.30 on up to 2.57. While only a modest 12% increase, we’ll be very interested to continue monitoring RAS in impending sessions. The stock closed just a few pennies below the HOD on roughly 4.5X the 3-month average volume.

We’ll look for RAS to keep logging higher lows and establish a sustained recovery, and remember, there’s a gap on the chart beginning at around 3.15, the filling of which would put the price back at $4.

New Options Idea – The Walt Disney Co. DIS

There’s an unusual amount of excitement surrounding Disney this week, with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the seventh movie in the Star Wars franchise set to hit theaters on Friday.

Add in the recent revelation that Alibaba (BABA) has teamed up with the company to distribute Disney films in China through a new device called DisneyLife, and we’re very interested in the potential activity these events could fuel in the DIS options chain.

As a result, we want to track contracts in the range of Weekly DIS $112-116 Calls for quick-strike chances, to try and take advantage of the current excitement. The stock is gapping up significantly in the premarket, so we’ll be on the lookout for an early dip-and-rip.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: TERP Review & More

TerraForm Power, Inc. TERP

TERP was the stock from yesterday’s track list to really catch our attention with a strong intraday performance. The daily low of 8.07 came within the first ten minutes of trading and we’d see a run to 9.89; a 23% pop.

We’d characterize that as a solid single-session gain for a stock in this price range. It maintained the majority of its daily advance, and did so on roughly eight times its 3-month average volume.

The whole event was apparently caused by a surge in investor interest based on the comments of high-profile hedge fund manager David Tepper  as well as an analyst upgrade. There’s also been a recent influx on attention for the energy sector as a whole. It will be very interesting to see how the stock forges ahead, especially when this morning’s PR (Link to PR) is added to the equation.

Monarch America, Inc. BTFL

We’ve also taken notice as a stock we tagged for tracking last Monday has built up a good head of steam and gone on a nice two-day run this week. BTFL saw a low of .0021 on Monday, and yesterday reached a high of .0094 which marks a swing of 348% for this subpenny mover.

We’ll stay on its trail just as long as it continues to build a higher base level of support going forward.

Energy Finders, Inc. EGYF

EGYF is another play we put on our radars early last week that has produced some exciting swing action in recent sessions. When we first put it on our watchlist it was as low as .0055, and subsequently ran to .0082 the following day (+49%).

That was followed by a dip to .004 on Monday morning, before it broke to a high of .0087 yesterday (+117%). We’ll want to continue to keep an eye on it, considering the fact that it has broken prior resistance on its way to new highs.

Fresh Options Idea – Yahoo, Inc. YHOO

We’re going to signal a range of options contracts that we find attractive this morning as well. YHOO is gapping up in the premarket, so we’re going to be on the lookout for activity in the Weekly $34-35.50 Calls.
