Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Review & More

Lumentum Holdings Inc. LITE

We noted yesterday morning that LITE was bucking trend of the two-day market bloodbath we witnessed this week. We made it clear that we were interested in the LITE Weekly $44-46 Calls regardless of which way the markets went, and it turned out to be a solid idea.

The markets did of course see a reversal, and LITE did perform well on the day, creating the following gains in our tracked contracts:

$44 Calls – Range: 2.00-8.00 – Max Gain: 300%
$45 Calls – Range: 2.50-6.98 – Max Gain: 179%
$46 Calls – Range: 1.25-6.00 – Max Gain: 380%

Fresh Options Ideas:

The Walt Disney Co. DIS – Weekly $107-109 Calls
Snap, Inc. SNAP – Weekly $16-17.50 Calls

Quotient Ltd. QTNT

Another stock we went bullish on in yesterday morning’s report, despite coming off the biggest two-day losses for stocks in history, was QTNT.

It boasted a solid bottom setup, and had already exhibited some bottom-bounce activity in the prior session. It also performed well on the day, trading up from a low of 3.36 to a high of 4.39- a respectable intraday run of 31%  We’ll look for the stock to establish a trend of higher highs and higher lows over the next few sessions.

Extended Watchlist:
RIOT, NETE, DRYS, DPW, MARA, CFRX

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DPW, PTOP & More

Peer to Peer Network PTOP

We originally alerted on PTOP on the morning of November 8th, well before the huge run that the stock would launch into weeks later on the back of bitcoin-hysteria. Our observed low on this crypto-related play was all the way down at .0004.

Flash forward to this week, and PTOP has been launched to new highs as Bitcoin itself continues to set new all-time highs, this morning hitting $11,855.73 shortly after 8:30am eastern.

Yesterday the stock hit .014, marking a 3,400% increase from our witnessed low, in a matter of just twelve trading days!

Digital Power Corp. DPW

We signaled DPW, another crypto play, in yesterday mornings premarket report, and it too surged to new highs with the help of the continued bitcoin explosion, as well as the company’s unveiling its subsidiary’s plans to launch a line of line of advanced hardware for digital mining of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin.

Our call came just in the nick of time for us to catch a very solid intraday run from DPW, which traded up from a low of 2.15 to a high of 3.49, recording a 63% intraday push to the upside. It’s also closed at its high of day on heavy volume./ Coupled with this morning’s new all time highs for Bitcoin, and we have the conditions necessary for this stock to continue its bullish ways.

Eagle Bancorp, Inc. EGBN

After realizing that EGBN had been the target of short-seller manipulation, we reported this to our readers yesterday morning, and placed the EGBN 12/15 $50-60 Calls on watch “for what should be a forthcoming recovery”. We’ve already seen our take on the situation vindicated in one session, as the stock rebounded predictably after having taken a nosedive on Friday.

That resulted in a good start to our extended-term recovery options ideas, with the following intraday gains being posted:

$50 Calls – Range: 4.40-7.60 – Max Gain: 73%
$55 Calls – Range: 1.80-3.90 – Max Gain: 117%
$60 Calls – Range: .40-1.20 – Max Gain: 200%

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. CMG

Our extreme success on the options front continues. We cited the CMG chart setup as the reason for wanting to have our eye on the CMG Weekly $297.50-305 Calls yesterday morning, and were very pleased with the intraday performance we witnessed. It also didn’t hurt that the founder stepped down to make room for a new CEO, which went over well with the investment community.

Regardless of which strike price was chosen, there were some serious multi-bag single-session gains there for the taking:

$297.50 Calls – Range: 1.50-8.10 – Max Gain: 440%
$300 Calls – Range: 1.15-6.50 – Max Gain: 465%
$302.50 Calls – Range: .77-5.00 – Max Gain: 549%
$305 Calls – Range: .54-3.83 – Max Gain: 609%

Fresh Idea:

The Kroger Co. KR – We want to signal some options to watch for Kroger as well after the company tidily topped 3Q forecasts with this morning’s earnings report. We’re going to be looking to the KR Weekly 25.50-27.50 Calls to try to take advantage of the conditions. We’re also anxious to listen in on the conference call slated for later this morning.

Crypto Recaps

Whatever you refer to it as, virtual currency, digital currency, or cryptocurrency, the rise of Bitcoin has fueled a hugely popular market sector, and caused many small companies to shift focus to attempt to capitalize on what has become pure hysteria.  Bitcoin breached $11,300 yesterday, and as a result, some of the BTC-related plays we’ve tagged have enjoyed really nice moves on the chart.

Integrated Ventures, Inc. INTV – Having recently lauched its bitcoin mining efforts, INTV is a stock that we slated for observation in our watchlist yesterday morning. The stock responded with a solid run from .551 to .97, marking an intraday pop of 76% on more than ten times its monthly average volume.

Peer to Peer Network PTOP – This one appeared in our watchlist earlier this month on the 7th. We came early to the party on this one, but with Bitcoin setting its new all-time high once again yesterday, it woke up in a big way. That included a serious intraday move of 1780% as PTOP traded from a low of .0005-.0094. It represented the stock’s highest price in three years, and a new all time record high volume, with over 400 million shares changing hands on the day.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: SNAP Review & More

Snap, Inc. SNAP – Options Idea

After a mixed bag of news yesterday that included a 12% stake being bought in SNAP by China’s Tencent Holdings, and a poor quarterly earnings report, we signaled our interest in tracking the  SNAP Weekly $15-14 Puts for quick strike trades.

It turned out to be a good idea as the stock gapped down and continued to plunge, sending our observed contracts hurtling upward.

$15 Puts – Range: 1.10-2.85 – Max Gain: 159%
$14.50 Puts – Range: .76-2.30 – Max Gain: 203%
$14 Puts – Range: .50-1.89 – Max Gain: 278%

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc. VRX – Options Update

We began tracking the VRX Weekly $13-14 Calls on Tuesday morning, and saw some pretty nice moves out of them early on in that session.

With the help of another, even more bullish session we were able to see our observed ranges on the specified contracts extended by a considerable margin. The following table represents Tuesday’s lows to yesterday’s highs, and the two-day, multi-bag gains that were possible.

$13 Calls – Range: .82-2.28 – Max Gain: 178%
$13.50 Calls – Range: .52-1.75 – Max Gain: 237%
$14 Calls – Range: .28-1.30 – Max Gain: 364%

Fresh Options Idea: AT&T, Inc. T

We’ve had our eye on AT&T for awhile as it was recently searching out a bottom, waiting for the proper time to pounce with a potential recovery play. Over the past couple of sessions, the stock has establish a solid base of support and begun to try to come up off of those lows, which are the lowest of the year so far.

We’re going to be looking after the T 01/19 $34-36 Calls for a longer-term rebound play, in the days and weeks ahead.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Bottom-Plays & More

DISH Network Corp DISH

There’s a possible bottom-bounce opportunity brewing with DISH, with the stock posting its first bullish session after a string of five consecutive days of getting beaten to a pulp.

We want to signal a range of September calls that would stand to make considerable moves if the stock can mount an extended recovery. We like the volatility that DISH provides, and will be looking for it to test the 200DMA (61.38) while  tracking the DISH 09/08 $60-62.50 Calls over the days and weeks ahead.  .

Snap, Inc. SNAP

This is another stock that’s gotten beaten up recently, but instead of a handful of sessions, SNAP has been under consolidation for more than two months. In fact, the vast majority of the time since its IPO has been spent on the backslide.   It only recently began to record higher lows off of its newly established all-time low, and indicators on the chart suggest that a more convincing rebound could be in the cards.

We’ll want to pay close attention to the company’s post-market earnings call this afternoon, which could be a turning point in the early history of this relatively new stock.

Post-Earnings Gappers

We’re seeing premarket gap-ups for all three of the following stocks. We’re going to issue some options ideas for each chain to watch for day trades and or swing trades into tomorrow, depending on the activity we observe.

Macy’s, Inc. M – Weekly $22-24 Calls
Perrigo Co. plc PRGO – Weekly $73-75 Calls
Canada Goose Holdings, Inc. GOOS – Weekly $19-20.50 Calls
