Blue Horseshoe Stocks: EXAD Review, Options & More

Experience Art & Design, Inc. EXAD – Impressive Run Continues

Yesterday morning, we were just updating readers on the call we made last Monday on EXAD at a low of .0009. It had subsequently run up to a high of .0024 (+167%) and we were congratulating folks who latched on for a nice profit.

We went on to mention that the stock was “exhibiting momentum-play characteristics” and that we’d continue to be interested if it could maintain support above .0015 on any pullbacks. Ultimately, there was no pullback. EXAD opened at Friday’s high and closing price of .0024, and took off on another bullish session that took it to an impressive new high of .0039; an intraday pop of 62%.

It closed at its high for the second straight session, and pushed our overall observed range in just a week’s time to 333%  As long as the stock continues to register higher base levels of support, we’ll remain interested in what has concisely demonstrated itself to be an extreme momentum-mover!

Shire plc SHPG – Options Idea

We also want to follow up on our options trading idea that we floated in yesterday’s premarket report, the SHPG Weekly $175-180 Calls. We said that we’d have them on watch throughout the course of the week, and would just like to reiterate that this morning.

We’re seeing a notable gap-up in early trading to day that should begin to fuel healthy observed gains for our highlighted contracts.

ChromaDex Corp CDXC

We have an interesting little story that has unfolded for CDXC inside of the past 24 hours. Yesterday a report and “Shareholder Alert” was published that effected a steep decline which you can very plainly see on the included chart.

Frank L. Jaksch, CEO of ChromaDex immediately responded, alleging that “The report appears to be a blatant and transparent attempt by a shortseller or shortsellers to profit from an immediate and precipitous decline in the company’s share price through the use of an opinion piece published anonymously and laden with misinformation…”

Even if the report contained elements of truth, the sharp selloff which occurred yesterday seems to be an over-reaction. We’ll have CDXC on recovery watch in coming sessions.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: EXAD Recap & More

Experience Art & Design, Inc. EXAD – Update

We began tracking EXAD off of its bottom at the beginning of last week, at which time we observed a low of .0009 in the stock. We were pleased with its steady albeit limited progress throughout the course of the week as it registered higher lows each day.

Then on Friday, the uptrend really kicked into high gear as we observed an impressive daily trading range from the open at its low of .001 to the close at it high of .0024. That worked out to a 140% intraday swing, and an overall increase of 167% over our observed low on Monday.

With the stock exhibiting momentum-play characteristics, we’ll certainly want to leave a slot open for it on our radar as we kick off a new trading week. In order to hold our interest, EXAD will need to maintain support at or above .0015 on any consolidations.

Shire plc SHPG – Options Idea

We’re intrigued with the present situation on SHPG, a stock whose options chain provided us with multi-bag opportunities from an idea we submitted early this year. Last week, the company made headlines as one of their drugs received FDA approval for an expanded label (Link to PR below), and this morning, we’re seeing a notable gap-up occurring in premarket trading this morning.

We’re going to look into using the current situation to our advantage by monitoring a series of options calls. Our target range is going to be the SHPG Weekly $175-180 Calls. We’ll have these on watch throughout the course of the week.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: SRPT Options Through the Roof & More

Sarepta Therapeutics, Inc. SRPT – Update

We caught SRPT Wednesday on the heels of the stock’s 52-week low, and immediately pounced with an options idea. The SRPT Weekly $10.50 and $11 Calls produced gains of 237% and 159% respectively that day, and when we followed up in yesterday’s premarket report, we made sure readers understood that those gains would “pale in comparison” to the ones we expected once the session kicked off. We were absolutely correct.

The $10.50’s which we caught at .40 on Wednesday, set a new high of 4.23 to extend our total possible gains to 958%   $11’s whose low from Wednesday was .39 rushed to a high of 4.04, marking a two-day swing of 936%

Pertaining to SRPT stock itself, the two-session move has been impressive there as well, trading up in a range from 8.00 to 15.38, for a highly respectable 92% increase. Cheers to any of our followers who caught on with SRPT, because there were profits to be made across the board!

Chatroom Reminder

We don’t inundate our readers with reminders about our daily live traders chats (Open to all, just send a Skype contact request to ‘stocksumo‘) but every so often we like to give everyone a peek into what typically goes on.

We had our old friend DJ provide the room with a trio of ideas at midday in the shipping sector and all three (PRGN, EGLE and DRYS) continued to stack on some serious gains subsequent to the alert.

Once again, we welcome participation on any level from all of our readers, even if you just want to drop in and see what’s buzzing in the room. Just send that Skype contact request to our very own ‘stocksumo’ and he’ll get you in right away!

______

Bonus Shipping Play: We also want to add GLBS to the list of shippers we’ll be monitoring after this sector-wide momentum boost. We’re looking for a continuation of that today and possibly into next week.

Fresh Friday Options Ideas

We’ve got a few prime ideas based off of more Q1 earnings beats, so it’s time to put our options-trading hats back on for the following three plays:

Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN  – Weekly $670-680 Calls

LinkedIn Corp. LNKD – Weekly $132-134 Calls

Shire plc SHPG – Weekly $190-192.50 Calls

*As we always caution our readers, remember that trading weekly options on Friday is very risky. To be attempted only by expert traders!

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Updates, BLTA Recap & More

Shire plc SHPG – Options Update

Yesterday morning, we focused in upon a range of options contracts in the SHPG chain, and the headliner from that group turned out to be the SHPG Weekly $180 Calls. The stock itself made a run from around midday into the close and exceeded the $180-mark, facilitating a double-bag intraday move out of those contracts.

The $180’s soared from a low of 1.76, running as high as 4.26 for a highly respectable single-session pop of  142%

SHPG is gapping up in the premarket this morning, so we’re going to let it remain a point of focus for us today. We’ll be on the lookout for the possibility of another dip-and-rip formation, and as the situation may dictate, roll up our strike price to the $185-level.

 Baltia Airlines, Inc. BLTA

BLTA was an item from yesterday morning’s premarket watchlist, and despite getting off to a slow start, the stock actually made a solid intraday move that offered up the chance at appreciable gains.

We observed the stock’s daily low come in at .0017 before seeing a bounce take it to .0027, which amounted to a solid 59% swing. As you can see from the following chart snapshot, there are a number of indicators which suggest some upside potential still remains. We’ll want BLTA to maintain support in the highlighted channel in order to hold our attention.

Fresh Options Idea – Wells Fargo & Company

WFC has put together a couple of solid sessions this week to rebound off of a recent relative bottom, and appears to be setting up for another one today as it gaps up in the premarket.

Not only has it just received an analyst upgrade, but the company will report Q4 earnings on Friday morning prior to the opening bell. We’ll look to take advantage of the wave of anticipation and possibly see some nice activity in the WFC 02/12 $52-54 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: New Options Ideas & More

New Options Ideas

The market, which has been struggling mightily here in the opening weeks of 2016 for numerous reasons, appears to be in line for some measure of a rebound today, based on early trading activity. Q4 earnings season has kicked off, which should result in an increase of options trading opportunities in the days and weeks ahead.  In the event this trend holds and progresses, we’re going to want to have a few options contracts ready and waiting in the hopper to watch for swing-trade possibilities.

Shire plc SHPG

SHPG shares are gapping up to the tune of more than 5% in the premarket this morning in the wake of the revelation that Shire would be acquiring US-based Baxalta for a whopping $32B. The deal figures to create the largest rare-disease drugmaker conglomerate in the world.

We like to take advantage of blockbuster reveals such as this, and the trading hysteria they tend to create. For this particular situation, we are going to set our sights on SHPG Weekly $175-180 Calls.

___

Acadia Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ACAD

ACAD has been tumbling down in terms of PPS in recent sessions. The reported possibility of dilution as a result of fundraising via public offering has had investors coming down on the bearish side of the fence. We want to be on the lookout for the possibility of a rebound. If such a move occurs we’re going to have the ACAD 02/19 $29 Calls and 03/18 $30 Calls on our radars moving forward.

Alcoa, Inc. AA – Possible Recovery Play

AA is striking us as a stock whose time for a rebound may be fast approaching. We want to signal this as a potential bottom-play. The strength index is heading into heavily oversold territory, and a triple-bottom setup suggests AA could be nearing basement-level prices.

We’re going to add this to our current list of bottom-watch plays, which also includes KOOL, MGI, GNBT, and MAXD.
