Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Bottom Watchlist, Options Idea & More

Cannabis Sativa, Inc. CBDS

CBDS was part of our cannabis stock watchlist yesterday, and even as the majority of the sector was seen to be fading, CBDS bucked the trend and produced an excellent intraday opportunity.

We watched as the stock took off like a rocket right at the opening bell from a low of 1.26, and didn’t stop until hitting its 2.45 high-of-day shortly before 11’clock. That works out to a 94% swing and it came on immense volume, to the tune of 23X the 3-month average.

Cheers go out to any of our readers who caught a piece of the action on CBDS, which was the first in a trio of selections from yesterday’s premarket report to produce respectable intraday performances.

Cardinal Resources, Inc. CDNL

Next in line was CDNL, which is a stock that we’ve referenced in our reports on numerous occasions over the past several months. This subpenny runner turned in an intraday rip of 77% as it ran from .0047-.0083 on a little more than twice the average trading volume, and managed to hold the majority of its daily advance into the close at .0074.

It marked the second consecutive big day for the stock trending off of its lowest prices in roughly six months, so we’ll certainly want to continue tracking its activity, watching for it to record higher highs and higher lows in coming sessions.

Celator Pharmaceuticals, Inc. CPXX

We caught CPXX yesterday on the heels of an attention-grabbing PR (link below) which hit wires post-market on Monday afternoon, relating to encouraging results from a late-stage clinical trial. Despite already being up close to 300%, we still felt it warranted a tag in our watchlist, and we weren’t disappointed.

As is often the case in such circumstances, we saw a dip-and-rip unfold early, after which time the stock ran from a low of 6.44 to 9.10, for a solid 41% swing on absolutely massive volume.

Bottom-Watchlist

We’re going to designate the following stocks as bottom-watch plays and reserve a spot on our watchlist for each of them over the next several sessions:

Pernix Therapeutics Holdings, Inc.  PTX
Sunesis Pharmaceuticals, Inc  SNSS
Peak Resorts, Inc.  SKIS
Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc.  QTWW

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. CMG –  Options Idea

We want to throw in a quick options idea this morning as well, and it’s going to come in the form of a short. Specifically, we’re going to be looking at the CMG Weekly $485-475 Puts.

Fresh Options Ideas

As we head into the end of another excitement-filled week, we’ve zeroed in on some options ideas for daytrading that could yield positive results. Friday is always an interesting time to trade weekly options; premiums are lowered significantly due to time decay, creating just the kind of high-risk, high-reward environment for which we are always on the lookout.

We have extensively used the options chains of all of the following high-profile stocks to bank enormous gains in the past (PBR Archive, AAPL Archive, NFLX Archive):

Netflix, Inc. NFLX – When we last touched upon NFLX the stock was trading in the high-$300 to $400 range, and since then it has made a monstrous move to its current base in the high-$500’s.

The stock appears to want to gap up this morning into the $600+ range; we’re going to be on the lookout for a dip-and-rip scenario, and as usual, we’ll provide a range where we think the heaviest action will fall- in this case we’re going to monitor NFLX Weekly $595-612.50 Calls.

Strategies may require adjustment on-the-fly as trading kicks off; we’ll start off with in-the-money calls, keeping in mind that we’ll need to roll up our strike prices, should the stock continue to run.

____

Apple, Inc. AAPL – It’s been some time since we ventured into Apple territory. To close out the week, we’re going to be monitoring the Weekly $128 and $129 Calls for potential quick-strike opportunities.

____

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – This old-time favorite has been on a steady incline since March, and recently has been flirting with the $10-level. That has made the PBR Weekly $10 Calls good for intraday flips all week long, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the same were true today. We’ll need to see the stock hold support at or above 9.85 on any pullbacks in order to remain interested.

MagneGas Corp. MNGA

We want to keep a sharp watch over MNGA which is gapping up on the heels of this morning’s big announcement of a contract with a branch of the US Military.

The company also launched a new website earlier this week that you can check out here: www.magnegas.com

Banro Corp. BAA

We also want to quickly pat ourselves on the back for the timely tag of BAA that we placed in yesterday’s extended watchlist. It was the first time the stock has appeared in our reports in almost a year, and it produced the chance for a nice intraday gain.

From an early low of .2991, BAA traded up to a high of .353, a respectable 18% jump. We’ll keep our eyes on this one into next week.

Extended Watchlist:
PTX, FRO, OSUR, QKLS, BSQR

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ACGX, SKYF & Extended Watchlist

Alliance Creative Group, Inc. ACGX

We’re looking to ACGX once again this week- If you recall, back in April this stock brought us chances for significant gains as it ran 100% from .0055 up to .011.

We followed up early this month where we put the a stock on bottom-watch. Since then, it has consolidated down to find that solid support we were looking for at .0035 and has begun to rebound.

Yesterday ACGX cracked back above its 50DMA at .005, and that’s where we’d like to see support hold from here. There’s some key resistance coming up in the .007-.008 range; if ACGX can make a move back to pennyland, it will spell gains of 65% or more, so we definitely want to continue monitoring this play in upcoming sessions.

We’ve prepared a short video presentation of the chart, click below and take a look:

SKY440, Inc. SKYF

Congratulations are in order for anyone following along with our call of SKYF earlier in the week. After making a 100% intraday run from .0012 to .0024 following our initial alert, the stock came back to bounce off of support at .001 yesterday morning. It subsequently ran back to .0018, tacking on another 80% to the gains we’d already observed.

One of the things we’re not crazy about with SKYF is the Caveat Emptor status designated to it over at OTCMarkets.com. We’d like to see that info get updated, although there has been no indication that the process is underway.

In the meantime, chart-wise, key resistance in the .0022-.0024 range must be broken, or we’ll consider taking profits off of the table and moving on. Additionally, support will need to continue to hold at or above .001 to keep SKYF an item of interest.

A Word on the Apple-Beats Rumor

If you read or watch the news, chances are you’ve caught wind of the rumors surrounding Apple’s potential acquisition of Beats Electronics, purveyor of the vastly popular Beats by Dre brand of upscale headphones and speakers. It has certainly sent investors scrambling in recent days, as people attempt to ascertain the effects of a proposed $3.2B deal that would trump any of Apple’s acquisitions to date.

Price targets from some analysts are ranging from $600 to over $750/share when all is said and done. We’re not in the game of speculating that far ahead, but given the current conditions of the chart, if AAPL can break its previous swing high of $604.40, we could be in for another major run.

Some of our longer-term readers might recall latter half of last year, when we achieved possible percentage gains numbering in the thousands trading AAPL options as the stock trended up for several months culminating in December.

As with any rumor, we always need to consider the possibility that one or both parties will back away, but assuming it does go through, it could be one of the top stories in finance for many months to come. The deal would make Dr. Dre the world’s first hip-hop billionaire, and would conceivably outfit many if not all future Apple devices with one of the more popular names in audio.  This is definitely a storyline that we feel is worth following, so stay tuned.

_________

Pernix Therapeutics Holdings, Inc. PTX

We’ve got PTX on watch today after a morning PR (PERNIX Signs Agreement to Acquire TREXIMET® Tablets for Migraine From GSK) has caused the stock to gap up over 40% in morning trading to its highest levels since March.

In situations like these, we often see a couple of things; after the upward momentum has died out the stock could be a target for shorters. Profit-takers can also contribute to a reversal, which always has the possibility of allowing us to take advantage of dip-and-rip opportunities.

______

Arotech Corp. ARTX

ARTX is another gapper, continues to rise in pre-market trading today on the strength of increased earnings outlined in a post-market PR yesterday.

The situation remains the same as previously mentioned; we like to monitor these types of plays, because sniping gains from stocks in this situation has become our bread-and-butter. No volatile run can sustain itself indefinitely, always leading to a subsequent course correction, and we like to lay in wait for the perfect time to pounce.
