Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PVSP, MJMD Recaps & More

Pervasip Corp. PVSP

Our first order of business in yesterday’s premarket report was to call attention back to PVSP, and the timing turned out to be excellent.

The stock touched a daily low of .0018 just after 10AM, and spent most of the rest of the session bulling its way to new highs. Shortly after 2PM, it hit .0028. That registers as a 55% intraday gain.

PVSP was trading at an absolute bottom (.0001) as recently as February 28th, meaning that yesterday’s high represented a ridiculously strong upswing of 2700% in under a month!

We’ll continue to keep PVSP in mind as we await further updates on last week’s acquisition of a Colorado-based hydroponics distributor. >> READ PR

MediJane Holdings, Inc. MJMD

MJMD appeared in our extended watchlist yesterday, and turned out to be another impeccably-timed alert. The momentum we observed in the stock during a routine scan on Friday made its inclusion on our radar a no-brainer.

MJMD exploded out of the gate at .005 and ran hard, reaching its peak at .02, and marking an exceptional intraday run of 300% It did so on nearly ten times its 30-day average volume, so big cheers go out to any of our readers who were able to hitch a ride on that freight train!

It’s good to see some liquidity flowing back into cannabis stocks, which endured a noticeable slump in recent months. Another one that caught our eye with a big move yesterday was LGBI, and we’ll be on the lookout for any dip-and-rip chances it may provide.

Kraft Foods Group, Inc. KRFT – Options

As our regular reader are surely aware, we’ve been tracking KRFT Calls ever since the big news of the Heinz merger came across the wires last week. Our initial ideas were to monitor April 17th, $75, $80, and $85 Calls and it worked out in spades as the stock approached the $90-mark on Friday.

Yesterday continued the upward momentum, leading KRFT to break $90, and that left a couple of our observed contracts in a good position to continue their gains. While the $70’s were pushed a little deep into the money to make any further appreciable moves, the $75’s and $80’s still managed to provide opportunities for daytrades.

04/17 $80 Calls – Range: 7.90-10.30 – Max Gain: 30%
04/17 $85 Calls – Range:3.40-5.61 – Max Gain: 65%

Those traders savvy enough to roll their strike price up to the $90-level would have been duly rewarded as the 04/17 $90 Calls made their way from .91-1.91, for a 110% intraday move. Should KRFT continue its upward momentum, those will most likely be an area of interest for us in coming sessions.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Wrapping Up Another Great Week

The Priceline Group, Inc. PCLN – Options

After honing in on PCLN options last week as the Expedia/Orbitz buyout was calling massive attention to the sector, we were able find significant gain opportunities. This week, we were treated to continued upward momentum courtesy of Priceline’s earnings release, and the chances to profit have once again been plentiful.

Yesterday morning, we formulated a daytrading idea to watch Weekly PCLN Calls in the $1180-1225 range, and we were not disappointed in the price action that followed. Any of the contracts in that range would have served traders well. :

At the low end of the spectrum the $1180’s traded in a daily range from $24-42, an intraday increase of 75%, while the action closer to the money, like the $1220 Calls, was even more intense. As you can see on the screenshot below, there were multiple swings in those contracts. They first dipped to a low of 3.35 before exploding to 8.30 (+147%) followed by another pullback to 4.00 and a subsequent run back to 8.80 (+120%).

Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. ASTI

Another big performer from yesterday’s pool of tracked stocks was ASTI. After tagging it in our premarket extended watchlist the stock registered an early low of 1.36 and ran hard in the last hour of trading, touching a high of 2.08. That represented an intraday increase of 53%, and it came on roughly 16x the 3mo. average volume.

CollabRx, Inc. CLRX

Also standing out on yesterday’s report was CLRX, which ran hard out of the gate and made an initial move from 1.67-2.74. That worked out to a spike of 64%, also on heavy volume.

Side Note:

After so much upward momentum, the overall markets could be looking at a pullback today, and even amid a hefty downturn there should still be options opportunities on the table. If that is indeed the case we may be taking a look at potential trades of SPY $210 Puts, or $22 UVXY Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Ideas, Bottom-Bouncer & More

 New Options Ideas

The Priceline Group, Inc. PCLN– It was just last week that we successfully targeted PCLN Calls in the $1065-1085 area, and already the stock has hurtled its way to its highest PPS levels since September. In this morning’s premarket the stock has traded as high $1225.75.

For a possible day-trade opportunities this week, we’re going to keep an eye on Weekly PCLN Calls in the $1180-1225 range, provided the stock can maintain support at or above $1175 on any pullbacks.

Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals, Inc. TTPH – TTPH is another morning gapper that we’re going to be transfixed upon this morning. In the midst of a ‘Superbug’ outbreak in California which is one of today’s top-reported headlines, TTPH, which is developing an antibiotic to combat these types of drug-resistant pathogens has become the subject of potential buyout rumors.

We’re going to monitor the TTPH $40 Calls for another possible short-term target as we head into the end of this holiday-shortened trading week.

Longer-term Ideas

In addition to the preceding short-term plays, we also have a couple of  ideas for longer-term opportunities with GoPro, Inc. GPRO and Garmin, GRMN. Both stocks have seen significant pullbacks this week, and are showing symptoms of a possible rebound in the premarket with slight gap-ups.

We will want to radar March 20th GPRO $47 and $48 Calls (Closed at 2.50 and 2.08, respectively).

For GRMN we’ll be monitoring the March 20th $52.50 and $55 Calls (Closed at .76 and .30, respectively).

Atheranova, Inc. AHRO

We also want to tag AHRO this morning as a potential bottom-bouncer. The stock recently fell off of a cliff, and yesterday began to rebound off its newly-established 52-week lows.

We always keep our eyes peeled for stocks in this position, as we have used them to our advantage time and time again.

Angie’s List, Inc. ANGI

ANGI was a point of focus on yesterday’s extended watchlist, as well as a topic of discussion in our trading chatroom*. The stock made a big move from 6.45-7.80, a 21% intraday spike.

The accompanying options idea we floated in our chatroom* yesterday were the March $7.50 Calls,. which made a significant move from .25-.85, and will continue to garner our attention moving forward.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PCLN, EXPE Recaps & More

Yesterday’s Options Ideas
The Priceline Group, Inc. PCLN– The buyout of Orbitz by Expedia yesterday seemed to cause a ripple effect throughout the travel-booking sector yesterday, with many similar stocks making strong performances on the day.

The contracts that we proclaimed our interest in for PCLN were the the $1065-$1085 Calls, and with PCLN rising as high as 1102.26, substantial profits were there for the taking.

The $1065 Calls made an excellent 140% move from a low of 15.04 all the way to 36.20, while the $1085’s shot from  4.50 to 17.15 in a huge intraday increase of 281%

Expedia, Inc. EXPE – As far as EXPE itself, our premarket idea of the $86 Weeklies yielded an excellent opportunity as they moved up from 1.50 to 5.77, a 285% spike.

Those traders who chose to strike a bit closer to the money could have scored big with the $88 Calls as well, which traded in a range from .45-2.95 (+555%)

More New Ideas

We’ve done so well with options calls these past few weeks that there’s no point in stopping now! We’ve got a couple of new ideas to radar this morning in the web security business.

Both stocks are gapping up today, so we will be on the lookout for dip-and-rip scenarios to facilitate potential trades in the following:

CyberArk Software, Ltd. CYBR – With CYBR, we’re going to start off looking at the $50 Calls, which closed yesterday at 1.70, and the  $55 Calls which closed at .60.

FireEye, Inc. FEYE – For FEYE, we’ll want to monitor the $39.50, $40, and $40.50 Calls (Closed at .55, .35, and .15 respectively.)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: New Options Ideas & More

PepsiCo, Inc. PEP

Our first order of business this morning is to pat ourselves on the back for yet another perfectly-timed options idea yesterday. Our hunch that the PEP earnings beat would help us score some nice profits paid off almost instantly.

To refresh your memories on that report, we specifically outlined $99, $99.50, and $100 Weekly Calls for daytrading opportunities, and the 02/20 $102 Calls for a little bit of a longer-term possibility. Each and every one of those contracts made a great move as PEP broke through the $100-mark.

Here’s a breakdown of the gains that were possible on the day:

$99 Calls – Range: .62-1.77 – Max Gain: 185%

$99.50 Calls – Range: .46-1.23 – Max Gain: 167%

$100 Calls – Range: .33-1.00 – Max Gain: 203%

02/20 $102 Calls – Range: .20-.37 – Max Gain: 85%

PEP has a strong outlook as well, remember, they just initiated a three-year $12B share buyback program, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see Pepsi’s name come up in future reports. Stay tuned!

New Options Ideas

The Priceline Group, Inc. PCLN

PCLN is the next company we’re looking at on the heels of an earnings beat. We want to milk this earnings season for all its worth, and think we’ve done an excellent job of it thus far.

The range of contracts that we are interested in on the PCLN options chain are the $1065-$1085 Calls ( Yesterday the $1065’s closed at 6.10, and the $1085’s closed at 1.42)

Expedia, Inc. EXPE Impending Buyout of Orbitz Worldwide, Inc. OWW

With EXPE buying out OWW, we want to float another couple of ideas to take advantage of the excitement.

For EXPE, we’ll be monitoring Calls in the range of $83-86, and as far as OWW goes, our interest lies in the $9-11 Call range.

RadioShack Corp. RSCHQ

Our continual coverage of RSHCQ this week yielded potential gains for the third consecutive session yesterday. We brought the stock to our reader’s attention on Monday, at which point folks could have entered the mix for as low as .1251/share.

The stock has set a new high each day since, with yesterday’s trading range running from .185 up to a high of .25. That marked an intraday gain of 35%, and an overall increase of 100% from Monday’s observed low!
