Friday’s 40,000% Gainer

Incredible Options Gains

Even as markets around the globe struggle with the unprecedented effects of the novel coronavirus, chances for ridiculously large profits have been available to short-term traders. On Friday, we submitted some options ideas in our premarket report, and among them came the top gaining idea we have ever produced in our entire recorded history. All in one session.

We signaled interest in the AVGO Weekly $220-230 Calls and the ADBE Weekly $295-305 Calls, and saw some eye popping gains, including an unbelievable 40,000% runner!

Target Corp. TGT – Update

On Thursday morning we signaled a range of extended-term TGT ideas, the TGT 04/03 $98-90 Puts. In addition to current market conditions, the stock was exhibiting a gap to the low-side, and undergoing insider sales. It has created a perfect storm for shorts, and with the way things are going, the rewards should be there for the reaping this week.

We just wanted to remind everyone to watch these plays closely in the next few sessions, as we still expect to see significant gains from these ideas.

Panic Buying/Selling Goes Viral

Co-Diagnostic Inc. CODX – Review

The last time we mentioned CODX in one of our reports was toward the end of last month, and at the time the coronavirus was not inspiring as much fear as it is presently, but the stock had still already begun to trade high volume and edge upward.

Now, with the CDC warning of a potential pandemic, even as some public officials attempt to downplay the significance, fear-buying has driven up stocks like CODX, which happened to be the #2 gainer on the NASDAQ yesterday. It enabled new highs for us, and we’ve now seen CODX run from a low of 1.52 up to 10.89 in just over a month’s time! That’s a fantastic increase of 616%

The stock has broken $14 in the premarket, so our observed range stands to increase significantly today.

Vaxart Inc. VXRT

Speaking of coronavirus plays, we signaled VXRT on January 31st and promptly provided an update this month on the 4th, and it too has enjoyed a fear-powered run up the chart.

Our initially observed low on this play was .956, and as of yesterday’s new high of 1.91 that works out to an upswing of 99% With the stock on the verge of hurtling upward into blue skies, (over $2 in the premarket) we’re going to want to continue to keep an eye peeled for further activity.

Allakos, Inc. ALLK –  Recap

We began tracking ALLK on Monday morning, and formulated some options ideas ($45-60) which worked for us in Monday’s session, bringing in some nice gain opportunities. Then yesterday rolled around and we shared the huge news reported by the company in our premarket report along with the gains that our options ideas made.

The news on ALLK proved to be very influential on the activity of the stock, pushing it even further than Monday’s big surge had taken it. From the low that morning of 60.34, ALLK has run all the way up to a new high yesterday at 85.40, which marked a two-day upswing of 42%

While the lower end of our tracked options range was too deep in the money to see any real progress, the $60 Calls remained in play, and hit a high of 23.82. From our observed low of 6.75 on Monday, those contracts rose by a whopping 253%
_____

We also signaled interest in the Innovative Industrial Properties, Inc. IIPR 08/16 $100-105 Calls
yesterday, and those got off to a modest, yet promising start. The $100’s traded in a range from 6.50-7.90 for a rise of 22%, while the $105’s ran 23% from 4.50-5.90. We’ll continue to monitor these ideas into their expiration next week.

Durect Corp DRRX

We also want to highlight the incredible performance that DRRX has had this summer to finish things up this morning. We tagged the stock for observation on May 28th, at which time we observed a low of .50, and it turned out to be a great nbottom call, as it hasn’t looked back since.

Slow and steady growth over the past two months has brought DRRX to a new high of 1.44 this week. That represents an overall increase of 188% in the time we’ve been observing this play.

Options Recap

Both of our options ideas from yesterday’s morning report ended up providing us with a chance at sizable single-session gains.

Canadian Solar, Inc. CSIQ

We caught CSIQ in the unique position of having just registered a new 52-week low in the previous session, and having its earnings beat expectations yesterday, so jumping on CSIQ Weekly $16.50-18 Calls ended up being a sound strategy right from the outset. The impressive intraday moves were as follows:

$16.50 Calls – Trading Range: 1.20-1.76 – Max Gain: 47%
$17 Calls – Trading Range: .87-1.50 – Max Gain: 72%
$17.50 Calls– Trading Range: .30-.97 – Max Gain: 223%
$18 Calls – Trading Range: .27-.82 – Max Gain: 204%

Macy’s Inc. M

We went bearish on Macy’s yesterday, partly due to the overall downtrend the stock has seen in recent weeks, and as a reaction to yesterday morning’s disappointing earnings call. In this case our target range was the M Weekly $36-34 Puts and hefty gains were available across the board, including a big triple-bagger in the $34’s.

$36 Puts – Trading Range: 1.83-4.37  – Max Gain: 139%
$35.50 Puts – Trading Range: 1.40-3.79 – Max Gain: 171%
$35 Puts– Trading Range: 1.00-3.60 – Max Gain: 260%
$34.50 Puts – Trading Range: .83-2.88 – Max Gain: 247%
$34 Puts – Trading Range: .50-2.58 – Max Gain: 347%

_______

Fresh Ideas:  To throw some other options ideas into the mix this morning, we’re going to be adding Monsanto Co. MON Weekly $102-106 Calls and Jack in the Box, Inc. JACK 05/20 $70 and $75 Calls to our track-list.

Cerebain Biotech Corp. CBBT

We put CBBT on our radars last Tuesday after noticing some increased activity in the stock. Since our mention, subsequent to which we observed a low .53, we’ve seen a good bit of progress leading up to yesterday’s high of 1.25. That’s an overall move of 136%

The high came just prior to the closing bell, at which CBBT held a PPS of 1.20 so we’ll continue to monitor the situation carefully. We’ve had success recently with low-float, low-volume plays, and CBBT fits that bill to a tee.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DGLY, DRNE, APPG & Extended Watchlist

Digital Ally, Inc. DGLY

Our tag of DGLY prior to Thursday’s session had brought an excellent chance to collect up to 39% in profits last week as DGLY traded in a range from 5.75-8.00 that day.

The stock performed well for us for the second straight day on Friday, registering higher lows and higher highs. We saw DGLY run up from 7.10 to a high of 8.65, a 22% intraday gain. Measuring Friday’s high from the low we observed Thursday, marked an overall two-day increase of 50%

That figure increases dramatically when measured against this morning’s premarket high of 9.74. Anyone fortunate enough to pick up DGLY from the 5.75-mark would be looking at gains in excess of 69% at that level.

Drone Aviation Holding Corp. DRNE

We flagged DRNE in Friday’s Extended Watchlist and were pleased at the move the stock made from its early morning low of .89. It ran into the close and achieved a high of 1.10, an increase of roughly 24% on nearly 10x the average monthly volume.

The stock hadn’t traded that much volume since April, so we really did come upon DRNE at an opportune time.

Apptigo International, Inc. APPG

APPG is a bottom-bouncer that we wanted to mention this morning. On Friday the stock hit, and began to rebound off of its 52-week low of .366, closing at .51, just a penny below its high of day on twice the average monthly volume.

We are seeing a fresh PR out on APPG this morning as well:

MIAMI, FL–(Marketwired – Aug 25, 2014) – Apptigo International, Inc. (OTCBB: APPG) (OTCQB: APPG), a non-conforming, highly creative agency and mobile app developer, today announced that the Company has been invited to present at the National Investment Banking Association’s (“NIBA”) 132nd Investment Conference to be held in New York City on September 15-17, 2014. >> FULL PR
