Excellent Options Plays & More

Moderna Inc. MRNA – Update:

On Monday morning, we began tracking some August calls in the MRNA chain, the MRNA 08/20 $195-210 Calls. In yesterday’s report, we updated readers on the modest moves they made, and also issued an added idea in the MRNA Weekly $210-212.50 Calls, just to make things even more interesting.

Both sets of ideas have flourished as MRNA has posted two excellent daily performances in a row, rising from around $200 to more than $220. That has facilitated some highly respectable moves in every last one of our designated targets.

Here are the two-day ranges on the August calls and the intraday run recorded by the weeklies yesterday:

Potential Momentum Plays

Clean Coal Technologies, Inc. CCTC – In a characteristic move, CCTC repeated the history of its own chart, as a stock that seemingly likes to make volatile swings to the upside. It breached its 50DMA in a bullish manner yesterday, so we are going to tag it for observation today in the event of continued momentum.

The chart is showing a series of ripening indicators as well. In order to hold our attention, CCTC will need to maintain support at or above that 50DMA, currently at .153 on any pullbacks.

______

Eleven BioTherapeutics, Inc. EBIO
– EBIO is a stock we’ve come back to on several occasions in the past, and today, we want to circle around to point out its current status as a bottom-bouncing momentum play.

It hit four-month lows just five sessions ago, and has made a decent effort at a rebound since then, so we’ll keep it on watch for the possibility of further recovery.

Options Ideas

We’ve got a couple of earnings-related options ideas this morning as well. As our regular readers are surely aware, post-earnings options trading is one of our favorite and most reliable ways of rooting out rapid short term gain opportunities.

Shake Shack, Inc. SHAK – Weekly $35.50-37 Calls

Macy’s, Inc. M – Weekly $38-41 Calls

______

Reminder: We’re also still tracking our idea on Starbucks from last Friday, the SBUX Weekly $53.50-55 Calls. The stock has traded up to nearly $55 in the premarket today, so we’ll be open to the possibility of seeing our gains extended there.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PVSP, MJMD Recaps & More

Pervasip Corp. PVSP

Our first order of business in yesterday’s premarket report was to call attention back to PVSP, and the timing turned out to be excellent.

The stock touched a daily low of .0018 just after 10AM, and spent most of the rest of the session bulling its way to new highs. Shortly after 2PM, it hit .0028. That registers as a 55% intraday gain.

PVSP was trading at an absolute bottom (.0001) as recently as February 28th, meaning that yesterday’s high represented a ridiculously strong upswing of 2700% in under a month!

We’ll continue to keep PVSP in mind as we await further updates on last week’s acquisition of a Colorado-based hydroponics distributor. >> READ PR

MediJane Holdings, Inc. MJMD

MJMD appeared in our extended watchlist yesterday, and turned out to be another impeccably-timed alert. The momentum we observed in the stock during a routine scan on Friday made its inclusion on our radar a no-brainer.

MJMD exploded out of the gate at .005 and ran hard, reaching its peak at .02, and marking an exceptional intraday run of 300% It did so on nearly ten times its 30-day average volume, so big cheers go out to any of our readers who were able to hitch a ride on that freight train!

It’s good to see some liquidity flowing back into cannabis stocks, which endured a noticeable slump in recent months. Another one that caught our eye with a big move yesterday was LGBI, and we’ll be on the lookout for any dip-and-rip chances it may provide.

Kraft Foods Group, Inc. KRFT – Options

As our regular reader are surely aware, we’ve been tracking KRFT Calls ever since the big news of the Heinz merger came across the wires last week. Our initial ideas were to monitor April 17th, $75, $80, and $85 Calls and it worked out in spades as the stock approached the $90-mark on Friday.

Yesterday continued the upward momentum, leading KRFT to break $90, and that left a couple of our observed contracts in a good position to continue their gains. While the $70’s were pushed a little deep into the money to make any further appreciable moves, the $75’s and $80’s still managed to provide opportunities for daytrades.

04/17 $80 Calls – Range: 7.90-10.30 – Max Gain: 30%
04/17 $85 Calls – Range:3.40-5.61 – Max Gain: 65%

Those traders savvy enough to roll their strike price up to the $90-level would have been duly rewarded as the 04/17 $90 Calls made their way from .91-1.91, for a 110% intraday move. Should KRFT continue its upward momentum, those will most likely be an area of interest for us in coming sessions.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: RSHCQ Recap, FLSR, PEP Options & More

RadioShack Corp. RSHCQ
Our close coverage of RSHCQ has really come through for us as the stock performed very well on Monday and then again yesterday. Our initial alert came at a low of .1251 on Monday morning.

Yesterday the stock made its way up from a daily low of .1461 all the way up to .2145. That was an intraday spike equaling 47%, and measuring from Monday’s low, an overnight increase of 71% so cheers go out to any of our readers who were following this play to some fantastic short-term gains!

As we stated in our previous reports, we plan to keep a close eye on Radio Shack as the company deals with the many complexities of Chapter 11.

New Options Ideas

PepsiCo, Inc. PEP

In the spirit of taking as much advantage of the current earnings season as possible, we have continued to scour for potential options trading opportunities on earnings beats. PEP is standing out on our radar screen this morning, with Wall St. expectations having been exceeded.

PEP is showing a healthy chart currently in an ascending wedge pattern, and the stock is in the process of breaking all-time highs so we’re also entering blue-sky territory with this one.

Along with its Q4 figures, Pepsi also revealed that it would be initiating a share buyback program to run through 2018 where the company intends to buy back up to $12B of its own stock, which bodes well for the long-term health of the beverage and snack giant. >> View PR

To potentially take advantage of the current conditions with PEP, we’re going to be looking at Calls in the $99-100 range. Yesterday the $99’s closed at .62, the $99.50’s at .46, and the $100’s at .33. After what we expect will be a significant gap-up followed by some measure of profit-taking we will be looking to get ourselves positioned for what could be a strong rebound in those contracts.

We can also keep watch over the Feb. 20th $102 Calls (Last Trade: .23) for a potential swing-trade into next week.

First Solar, Inc. FSLR

Yesterday upon receiving word that Apple, Inc. had negotiated a solar deal with FSLR worth nearly $850M, FSLR went crazy, running into the close and continuing to climb in after-market trading as well as gapping up in today’s premarket action.

As a result of these circumstances, we’re going to be monitoring the FSLR $48 Weekly Calls (Closed 1.51) for what has the potential to be a very nice, rapid gain opportunity.

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. BABA – Reminder

We also want to take a minute to reiterate our longer-term options strategy regarding BABA.  Yesterday we outlined the March 20th $95 Calls (Closed: .85)  We could see those open a bit higher today as BABA is looking like it wants to gap up to slightly this morning.
