Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AMDA Recap & More

Amedica Corp. AMDA

We want to begin this morning by highlighting the performance of AMDA last week. We put this one on our radar on Tuesday, and would witness a heck of a run which culminated in an extremely strong session on Friday.

On Tuesday following our alert, we observed a low of .3851, and after registering higher highs and higher lows throughout the middle of the week, AMDA hit a new high of .6199,  which accounts for an intraweek swing of 61%

For a stock trading in that price range, we’d call that a top-notch four-session performance!

Fresh Ideas

We’ll also add a couple of newcomers to our radar this morning. We’ve got an energy play and a mining play that are both are coming off of rough outings on Friday:

Uranium Energy Corp. UEC fell below $2 for the first time since April during Friday’s session, so we’ll want to be open to possibility of a possible bottom-bounce here. Today the company revealed that it will be added to the Russell 3000® Index and the Russell Global® Index, effective this Friday. >> Read PR

Great Panther Silver Ltd. GPL also took quite a beating to wrap up the week, falling to the low .30’s. In premarket trading today the stock is back above .40, so we’ll be on the lookout for a continued rebound here as well.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NUGN Recap, New Watchlist & More

NuGene International, Inc. NUGN

We entered NUGN into the mix on Friday as one to put on bottom-watch, and it instantly became the latest in a string of perfectly timed rebound plays. After taking an absolute beating during Thursday’s session, wherein the PPS decreased by roughly 40%, the stock displayed an absolute turnaround.

From its open at 2.65, NUGN made a very respectable 26% intraday move on relatively heavy volume, hitting 3.33 shortly after noon. It maintained the majority of those gains into the close (3.10), so we’ll be on the lookout for possible momentum carryover.

We’ve identified some of the key aspects of the NUGN chart here:

Adding to Our Radar:

We’ve got a few stocks we want to put on a speculative watch for various reasons as we kick things off this week:

Axion Power International, Inc. AXPW – This fresh news play is the first that we want to enter as a possible new item of interest. The stock is trading massive premarket volume as the company published an interesting PR this morning. Take a look>> READ PR

Trucept, Inc. TREP – This is a thinly-traded subpenny stock that is unusual due to its revenue-producing status. The company published its Q1 2015 financials this morning, so we want to tag this play for observation. An influx of volume could send TREP on a ride.

Indo Global Exchanges Pte Ltd. IGEX – This is a super-sub-penny momentum play for which we’ll want to reserve a spot on our watchlists. It’s began to trade up off of a relative bottom on Friday so we’ll be on the lookout for the possibility of some of that activity to spilling over into this week.

Enertopia Corp. ENRT – This is a stock that has been the subject of recent promotion. We’ve never mentioned it ourselves, but we want to put it on the radar today as it is coming off of quite a thrashing on Friday. There’s a chance it could present itself as a rebound play upon finding support.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ICLD, XGTI Recaps & More

InterCloud Systems, Inc. ICLD

ICLD stood out as a solid mover from yesterday’s premarket report. From a morning low of 3.01, the stock made an authoritative move on up to a high of 4.30 just prior to the closing bell.  That represents an increase of 43% on heavy volume to the tune of nearly 38X the three-month average. That figure has been extended to 46%  in the premarket today with the stock touching a high of 4.40 so far.

We’ll want to monitor ICLD for a sustained run; if it can manage higher highs and higher lows today, it would mark the third straight session. The boost it received yesterday was due, in part, to the announcement of a new product launch, the link to which we’ve included below.

InterCloud Systems Announces the Launching of NFVGrid, a Network Functions Virtualization Orchestration Platform (Mon, May 4)

xG Technology, Inc. XGTI

XGTI was another stock from yesterday’s report that made a significant move on the day. It saw a an early low of .40, and would go on to run toward the end of the session, hitting a high of .5474. That worked out to an intraday move of 37%

The stock managed to hold .54 into the close, and the performance came on volume exceeding the monthly average by more than 6X. Anytime we observe action of this kind, we want to be on the lookout for continued activity in subsequent sessions. Already in early trading today we’re seeing the beginnings of a dip-and-rip pattern. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for added chances to take advantage of this play.

OSL Holdings, Inc. OSLH

We tracked OSLH throughout the month of April, and we’re highly rewarded for our vigilance. Between April 2nd (Low: .0021) and April 15th (High: .0274) we witnessed an amazing 1294% run.

Toward the end of last week, OSLH found a bottom after pulling back off of that historic move, and began to rebound from the .0075-mark, and has definitely won back our attention. Yesterday’s session carried OSLH as high as .0144, a 92% swing. We’ll watch this play for the possibility of a protracted rebound off of Friday’s low.

PlasmaTech Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. PTBI

We pulled up PTBI on a routine scan today, and it’s a stock that has been invested in by activist investor George Soros, as we’ve learned in the PR out this morning.. Occasionally, we like to watch stocks that are in the portfolios of high-profile investors. Just last month we followed VLTC over a huge run that was fueled by the involvement of Carl Icahn.

The stock is already up significantly in early trading, and there’s a chance we could see a major gap on the chart up to the 5.50 area filled, so we’ll have this one on our radar for just such an event. We’ve pointed this out below; if PTBI can gain support at or above the 4.40-mark, we like its chances of making a nice run.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Big News for KRFT & More

Kraft (KRFT) to Merge With Heinz
In a move that will effectively create the third-biggest food company on the North American continent, it has been announced that Kraft Foods Group Inc. (KRFT) and H.J. Heinz Co. will merge. 3G Capital and Berkshire Hathaway, which bought Heinz for $23B and took it private back in 2013, will be orchestrating the deal.

As a result of this development, KRFT is gapping up monstrously in the premarket to the tune of more than 30% Generally when we see a stock soar on news like this, our first instinct is to continually scan for a dip-and-rip scenario once the session commences. When the rip does occur, we’re going to be looking to April $75-85 Calls for intraday options trading possibilities.

Social Media Sector on Watch

Despite uncertainly over whether interest rates will be raised this year causing a general downturn in the markets, social media stocks appeared to be an exception yesterday.

We’re always looking for trends to exploit for options trading, and should Facebook, Inc. FB, Twitter, Inc. TWTR, and LinkedIn Corp. LNKD continue their hot hand this week, we could see some nice action in the following contracts:

FB Weekly $84-86 Calls
TWTR Weekly $50-52 Calls
LNKD Weekly $260-265 Calls

Vascular Biogenics, Inc. VBLT

VBLT is another gapper this morning that has surged in the premarket following the company Q4 earnings release. The stock briefly spiked to its 50DMA of 8.65 in early trading, and appears as if it will open in the 6.50’s.

We will look to see VBLT re-break the $7-mark once the session kicks off, as there is a large gap on the chart as we point out below, the filling of which would make for some highly notable gains. It’s definitely a stock we want to keep on our radar as we cruise through mid-week.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Mid-Week Review

Direxion Daily Jr Gld Mnrs Bear 3X ETF (JDST)

Yesterday marked the third consecutive day that we had been tracking the JDST ETF, and the third consecutive session that we witnessed a northerly move. From an early low of 14.07, it would go on to attain a daily high of 17.42 on volume that exceeded the 3-month average by nearly 2M shares. That worked out to a solid intraday run of 24%

As measured from the low we observed following our initial alert on Friday morning (11.40) to yesterday’s peak PPS, the JDST has risen 53% overall.

As we’ve previously mentioned, due to the nature of the fund, extended success for the JDST is contingent upon continued hardship for gold, which continued to flirt with its 3-month lows yesterday.
