Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NADL Update, Options & More

North Atlantic Drilling Ltd. NADL

NADL topped our list of potential bottom-plays in yesterday morning’s premarket report, and it ended up being the primary runner of the day.

We picked up on the stock on a routine scan, after noticing a sizable gap-up in the morning, coupled with the fact that the stock had been repeatedly beaten down over an extended period. All the signs seemed to be pointing toward a significant day for NADL, and that’s exactly what transpired.

The stock traded in a daily range from 1.73 on up to 2.87, for a highly respectable single-session swing of 66% that came in on mind-bending volume, on the order of 150X the 30-day average. That type of momentum always has a shot at carrying over, and sure enough, NADL is gapping in the premarket once again today.

The early high is in the 3.50’s, extending to total rise we’ve witnessed in less than 24 hours to roughly 100% and it puts us on alert once again today. We’ll be looking for higher highs and higher lows as usual as we watch this one play out.

Excellent Chatroom Calls

Every once in awhile we like to remind our readers on our website as well as our daily newsletter recipients that we conduct live trader’s chats via Skype on a daily basis, and any of our readers is more than welcome to participate. All you need to do to get in on the action is send a Skype contact request to username ‘stocksumo’. You can sit in and get ideas or offer up some of your own!

Yesterday, one of our chatters gave the room a heads up on Bravatek Solutions, Inc. BVTK shortly before 11AM, and the stock ultimately ran from .0002 to .0011, for an intraday pop of 540% on nearly two billion shares traded.

That brings us to another fantastic call, this time by our very own Stock Sumo, who brought American Leisure Holdings, Inc. AMLH to the attention of the room on March 27th, after which time there was plenty of opportunity to get in at .0003. The stock subsequently ran to a high of .007 two weeks (11 trading days) later, marking an enormous 2233% increase!

If these aren’t reasons to get involved with our daily trader’s chats, then we don’t know what is! There have been a multitude of super-subpenny runners over recent weeks, and these two are prime examples of why we continue to press the issue.

New Options Ideas

We don’t want to spend all of our focus on the stock side of things though, especially with our continued success with options trading, so we want to formulate a few ideas based on some things we’re seeing in the premarket.

Lululemon Athletica, Inc. LULU – We want to signal both some weekly and extended-range calls this morning on LULU, which has been making attempts at coming off of recent relative lows, with a massive gap on the chart to the upside. We could see this returning to fill at least a portion of that gap. We’ll have our eyes on the LULU Weekly $52-53.50 Calls as well as the 05/06 $55-57 Calls.

Delta Air Lines, Inc.DAL – We’re looking at DAL for a possible short-term play after its earnings beat this morning. Profits fell by a less-than-expected margin, while positive Q2 guidance was issued. Coupled with a major PR disaster for one of its main competitors this week, and we’re definitely interested in seeing if DAL can make an appreciable move. If it does, we’ll be looking at the DAL Weekly $45.50-47.50 Calls.

Blue Horsesehoe Stocks: DLTR, MMEX Recaps & More

Dollar Tree, Inc. DLTR – Options Update

We’ve got updates on our DLTR options idea for send morning in a row today. Just to recap for those who may have missed it, we formulated an idea for last Wednesday‘s premarket report, the  DLTR 04/21 $78-80 Calls.

With a very nice multi-day bullish run for DLTR in effect and continuing yesterday brought the stock to new highs once again, which means updates to our observed ranges on these contracts that we began tracking last week.

$78 Calls – Range: .51-2.22 – Max Gain: 335%
$78.50 Calls – Range: .63-2.05 – Max Gain: 225%
$79 Calls – Range:  .48-1.95 – Max Gain: 198%
$79.50 Calls – Range: .35-1.69- Max Gain: 383%
$80 Calls – Range: .30-1.40 – Max Gain: 367%

DLTR has now traded up from the $74 area, to nearly $80 over that spanm and in the event it breaks that $80 barrier, we would have to look at rolling up our strike prices to stay in the thick of things.

MMEX Resources Corp. MMEX

We saw a fantastic intraday run out of MMEX yesterday after once again tagging it in our premarket report. It included a continual climb throughout the session as the stock traded up from a low of .0081 first thing in the morning, to a high of .0169 just prior to the closing bell. That works out to a daily pop of 108%

Considering we alerted MMEX in last Friday morning’s report, and observed a low of .0046 at the time, we’ve now seen an overall increase of 267% from this play in just five trading days,

Athersys, Inc. ATHX

We want to swing back around for a quick mention of ATHX, which was a stock we put on our radars back in February. We would observe a low of 1.10 last month, but for the most part, ATHX just did a lot of sideways trading for the next few weeks.

All that finally began to change this week, with a run to a new high of 2.01 yesterday, marking a 83% rise off of our observed low. We may need to watch for a pullback before jumping back in for another run as the stock is now is extremely overbought territory.

Added Notes:

We want to pay attention to a couple of stocks we’ve come across in the $3-range, that  based on a number of factors, appear to be ripening for rebounds that could very well take each one to the $5 level or higher.

Leju Holdings, Ltd. LEJU – This stock has been trying to get up off of its recent relative lows, and this morning appears to be gapping nominally. We’ll be watching for a more sustained rebound.

Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. CYCC
– We’ve identified a strong double-bottom signal from CYCC as well, along with the clear potential for volatility. This one’s going to go on our running watchlist as well.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: BBRY Review, HK & More

Friday’s Options Review –  Blackberry Ltd. BBRY

BBRY was the object of our attention with regard to options-trading ideas on Friday, and it turned out to be a major success.

In our morning report we zeroed in on Weekly 7.50-8.50 Calls for what we felt could be “significant intraday swings” and each of the three sets of contracts within our target range managed to meet our expectations. The $8 and $8.50’s made particularly violent spikes exceeding the 1000-percent mark!

$7.50 Calls – Trading Range: .69-1.41  – Max Gain: 104%
$8 Calls – Trading Range: .20-2.88  – Max Gain: 1340%
$8.50 Calls – Trading Range: .04-.55 – Max Gain: 1275%

We also prepared a short video of the action provided by these BBRY Calls:

Halycon Resources Corp. HK

In the midst of tax-loss selling season, we are noticing opportunities to pick up highly discounted shares practically everywhere we look. One possible play we’re considering as we kick off this holiday-shortened week is HK, which fits a couple of the criterion for which we’re always looking.

Not only is the stock coming off of a new annual low registered on Thursday, but on Friday, no less than five members of management filed Form-4’s indicating the purchase of shares at .26. Both occurrences qualify HK for an extended-term recovery watch.

Even further, there was an announcement on Friday from CEO Floyd Wilson alluding to an exchange offer , the closing of which will apparently reduce “long-term debt by more than $1 billion and… annual cash interest expense by more than $50 million.” >> VIEW PR
