ATVI – To follow up with our idea from Wednesday morning in our premarket report, the ATVI Weekly $42-43.50 Calls, we wanted to provide one more update after another big move from the stock pushed our highlighted targets to new highs yesterday, and registered a really impressive two-day swing.

AstraZeneca plc AZN – The AZN Weekly $38-39.50 Calls  were on our radar yesterday morning as our fresh options idea, and despite the lower end of that range being pushed too far in the money, we still saw some solid moves out of the $39’s and $39.50’s.

The $39’s ran from .55-.90 for a gain of 64%, while the $39.50’s cruised from a low of .19 to hit .55; a big-time intraday pop of 189%  We want to continue to watching this chain as well, with the 39.50’s, and also rolling up to include the $40 and $40.50’s*.

Invacare Corp. IVC – Recap

Also appearing in yesterday’s report, was IVC, which we tagged in our extended watchlist. The stock made a good move on the day, which warrants further observation in coming sessions.

From a low of 7.21 IVC reached 9.54, which was good for an intraday rise of 32% which made it the second highest gainer on the NASDAQ for Thursday. We’ll continue to monitor this one as well.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ATVI Winners & More

Activision Blizzard. Inc. ATVI – Big Winner

We signaled a range of calls in the Activision chain yesterday morning in our premarket report following the company’s earnings report, which were bullish despite the fact that ATVI’s quarterly figures were a disappointment. We indicated that we would put the ATVI Weekly $42-43.50 Calls on watch, and they were good ideas across the board.

In each of our designated contract sets, we saw not one, but two remarkable intraday swings, that gave traders plenty of chances for single-session profits of a significant nature. We’ve listed all the moves and total possible gains below:

$42 Calls – Move #1: 1.48-3.20 (+116%)  | Move #2: 1.32-3.35 (+154%)
$42.50 Calls – Move #1: 1.12-2.75 (+146%) | Move #2: .98-2.85 (+191%)

Fresh Options Idea:

AstraZeneca plc AZN Weekly $38-39.50 Calls

Pernix Therapeutics Holdings, Inc. PTX

Even as we continue our excellent 2019 track record for options ideas, we don’t want to forget about the stocks on our watchlist that have been performing well.

A fantastic example of that is a stock we tagged as a bottom watch play back on December 20th. Over the past seven weeks, the stock has ramped up quite impressively, leading to a new high yesterday that we wanted to recap today.

From our observed low of .32 on PTX subsequent to our alert, to yesterday’s new high, represents an increase of 588%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ATVI Options & More

Activision Blizzard. Inc. ATVI

We focused on stocks quite a bit earlier on in the week, so this morning we wanted to take the opportunity to put another potential options play into the mix. We’re constantly looking for company’s that have just reported earnings, which gives us the potential for the volatility that we want.

In the case of ATVI, while its quarterly figures were lacking, the tock was at a bottom, and appears to want to go green today. We will put the ATVI Weekly $42-43.50 Calls on watch this morning, and monitor for the remainder of the week for a possible rebound off of what was its new 52-week low, registered on Monday.

SPDR S&P500 ETF (SPY)

Our regular readers are well aware of our fondness for the SPY ETF. We have taken advantage of it on many occasions. A quick peek into our archives reveals that today is the 114th time we’ve mentioned the SPY in our newsletters. It’s a well that we continue to draw from, with no indications of that ever changing.

Today, after such a big move yesterday wherein the SPY broke its 200DMA, we want to look for  continuation of the bullish behavior we’re observing. We will designate the SPY Weekly $274.50-275.50 Calls as ones to watch as we head through this midweek.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ATVI Review & More

Activision Blizzard, Inc. ATVI

On Friday, our primary focus was a bottom play in the form of ATVI, which had just been beaten back to its lowest prices since December of last year. Our inclination was to signal a range of longer term calls in the options chain, and we had instant results from those ideas.

All four of the contracts contained within our designated range produced single-session gains of a significant nature.

$55 Calls – Range: 3.20-5.00 – Max Gain: 56%
$57.50 Calls – Range: 2.30-3.60 – Max Gain: 57%
$60 Calls – Range: 1.40-2.68 – Max Gain: 91%
$62.50 Calls – Range: .90-1.84 – Max Gain: 104%

Aurora Cannabis, Inc. ACB

We have followed ACB for years, but this is the first time we’ve done a feature on the stock since it was ACBFF trading on the OTC Markets. The company uplisted to the NYSE, making it one of the few cannabis plays to do so.

After having been trading at a relative bottom toward the end of last month, the stock has been gaining some ground, and is gapping up a bit this morning on the heels of its quarterly earnings report.

Aurora’s revenue increased four-fold, and its earnings surpassed $100M in the first report issued by the company since the legalization of marijuana in Canada barely a month ago. We’ll be very interested to follow up with its conference call and expected guidance, as well as track it more closely through this new quarter.

Cronos Group, Inc. CRON

Speaking of earnings, CRON has a report upcoming early this week, and despite the PPS tapering back over the past couple of sessions, we’ll be interested to follow along with its post-release activity.

We tracked CRON over its recent solid 53% run from 6.50-9.95, and we’ll be eager to see if a solid earnings report can help reinvigorate the stock. We also made some great options calls on CRON last week, which we may swing back around and do again tomorrow, with favorable enough quarterly figures.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Bottom Watch Plays

Activision Blizzard, Inc. ATVI

Despite beating on earnings in its postmarket release yesterday afternoon, ATVI reported fewer monthly active subscribers, and the stock has taken a gut punch as a result, falling to new annual lows in the mid-$50’s. The stock hasn’t seen a PPS this low since last December, and it went on to have a post-holiday run into March of this year, and yet another in the spring.

While we don’t expect an exact repeat of history, at present the stock is highly oversold, and we want to set up a longer-term recovery play to place on watch today and monitor going forward. We’ll be looking at the ATVI 01/18 $55-62.50 Calls for this purpose.

Bunge Ltd. BG

We’ve also taken notice of an interesting setup on BG, which has been recently trading at a double bottom, and whose CEO just picked up nearly a hundred million dollars worth of the stock here at these lows. He was also joined by another insider which submitted a pair of Form-4’s for the purchase of roughly $40M.

That’s an incredibly large bet on the part of the company’s leader, far out of the realm of simply trying to prop up his company’s stock. To invest that kind of money, would seem to imply a firm inside belief that BG won’t go much lower than what we’ve seen in the past week or so. We’ll place this stock on a Form-4 Bottom Watch moving forward, and monitor for the possibility of a nice rebound.
