Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Fresh PBR Options & More

Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) PBR – Recap

One of the ideas we had formulated toward the end of last week was the PBR Weekly $14 & 14.50 Calls. We mentioned in Friday morning’s premarket report that we expected the already solid gains we had seen the previous session to be expanded upon, and our assumption was accurate.

We saw epic new highs out of both of our tracked sets of contracts. The $14 Calls from our observed low of .21 on Thursday, saw a new high of .78 Friday for a two-day run of 271% The $14.50’s, which we had caught at a low of .05, ran to .29 for an impressive 480% move over the same span.

Updated Idea:
We’re going to update our idea to some weekly calls for this week and roll up our strike range. Provided PBR can hold its 50DMA of 14.32, we’ll be looking to the PBR Weekly $14.50-15.50 Calls.

Extended Watchlist Recaps:

We’ve been doing things the same way for several years now, issuing our daily ‘Extended Watchlist’ for ideas that don’t get featured, but are stil noteworthy enough to keep watch over. Two such plays that we’ve recently signaled came away from last week with some decent progress.

Epizyme, Inc. EPZM – EPZM was included in Friday’s extended watchlist and it had a very nice intraday push, helped along by solid jobs numbers which led to a good day for the markets as a whole. EPZM traded in a range from 6.40 up to 8.19, a solid 28% jump.
____

Scientific Games Corp. SGMS – On December 14th we included SGMS in our premarket report, and it has made steady and significant headway since that time, trading up from a low of 14.79 to a new high of 19.43 on Friday. A 31% move in a stock in this price range is a pretty darn good move through a few weeks of the holiday season.  We’ll continue to keep an eye on this, which has become a solid momentum mover.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: SSLJ New Highs & More

SSLJ.com Ltd. SSLJ

We included a reminder on SSLJ in yesterday’s premarket report, the second time since our initial alert on the Tuesday before last wherein we expressed our interest in the stock as a bottom play.

The stock subsequently experienced a low of .64 and while it had already made significant headway as of yesterday morning, the session brought even more impressive gains our way.

We mentioned it could move to fill its gap on the chart and it did so. The stock traded in a daily range from 1.72 to a new high of 3.00. That works out to an intraday run of 74% and represented a total increase of 369% from our observed low in just two weeks!

Advanced Micro Devices AMD

We recently had great success with some AMD options plays, a stock that we often use for that purpose, but didn’t talk much about the real story, which is the stock’s incredible rise this spring and summer.

We talk about AMD quite often in fact, with one of those alerts coming several months ago on April 26th. Since then, the stock has essentially done very little other than bull its way to impressive new highs. Subsequent to that April alert, it was trading at lows of 10.61 and it never looked back. The stock reached new highs of 20.18, a 90% increase. It’s rare to see such a big stock make a double but AMD has certainly gotten close over the past few months of activity.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: VTVT Recap & More

vTv Therapeutics, Inc. VTVT

Our report yesterday morning included  a look at the VTVT chart, and establishing our interest in tracking it as a bottom play. Our timing in this really could not have been any better as the stock not only made it biggest single session move of the year, but also traded its highest volume.

VTVT ran from a low of .79 and reached as high as 1.67, a 53% intraday rip, and ended up closing at 1.19, filling a portion of the large gap which you can plainly see below. Based on the activity we’ve now witnessed, and the still-ripe look of the chart, we’re going to continue to keep a close watch over VTVT.

Van Eck Vectors Gold Miners ETF (GDX)

We also want to begin tracking a pair of options contracts in the GDX chain. Gold has been doing well and looks as if another solid day could be in the cards.

On that event, there should be some nice activity in the GDX Weekly $22.50 & $23 Calls, so we’ll be monitoring for that.

Tandem Diabetes Care, Inc. TNDM – Update

It was a week ago today that we were commenting on our coverage of TNDM in 2018. We caught this stock at a low of 2.14 earlier this year, and it has come a long way since then.

This week the stock has traded up to a high of 7.75, marking an increase of 262% since we began tracking it.
