Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Quick Strike Ideas

India Globalization Capital, Inc. IGCC

First up this morning is a recap of IGCC following its inclusion in our premarket extended watchlist yesterday. The stock didn’t blow its lid, but it did continue the solid run of intraday performances off of its lows from earlier this week which were precipitated by the company’s recent delisting from the NASDAQ down to the OTC Markets.

The stock traded in a range from 1.22-1.84 before tapering back off, which stood as an intraday gain of 51% We’re going to look for IGCC to continue to fill the remaining gap on the chart. As you can see on the included snapshot, the MACD is also beginning to converge toward a bullish cross.

Fresh Options Ideas*:

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. BABA – After beating on earnings and missing on revenues, BABA surged this morning, making it our prime bullish target among companies that reported their quarterly earnings today. We’re going to focus on the BABA Weekly 152.50-160 Calls*.
_____

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) – We’ve had some good luck with the SPY this week, which isn’t all that surprising when considering the fact that we have a long documented history of success with this fund. We’re so deep in the money with our previously targeted calls, that we’re going to go ahead and roll up our potential strike prices to the SPY Weekly $274.50-276 Calls* as we close out the week.
_____

Weight Watchers International, Inc. WTW – Strangely enough, despite also beating on earnings and missing on revs like the aforementioned play, WTW took a gut punch and appears on track for a bearish session. We’re going to be tracking the WTW Weekly $58.50-56.50 Puts* as a result.

Bonus Idea: AMD Weekly $20-21 Calls*

*NEVER trade weekly options on a Friday unless you’re an expert level trader with disposable funds!

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Big Day for Options

Options Recap

Yesterday, our premarket report included two fresh sets of options trading ideas for Under Armour, and Take Two Interactive, and thanks in part to a nice rebound for the markets, we were able to see some really nice gains in our designated plays.

Both of these were companies that had just reported their quarterly earnings, which just reinforces why we continue to make these same kinds of calls over and over again. Post-earnings options trading, while just as risky as any other type of short-term trade, is also just about the most reliable way to find quick-strike opportunities to profit.

Here were the trading ranges and total possible single-session gains that could have been banked off of yesterday’s ideas:

Under Armour Inc. UAA $19-20 Calls
$19 – 2.69-4.20 (+56%)
$19.50 – 2.65-3.82 (+44%)
$20 – 1.75-3.25 (+85%)

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. TTWO $122-125 Calls
$122 – 4.00-5.60 (+40%)
$123 – 2.49-5.70 (+129%)
$124 – 2.50-4.20 (+68%)
$125 – 2.50-4.00 (+60%)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: HSY Update & More

The Hershey Co. HSY

Despite the miss on Q3 earnings, we were confident enough in HSY’s setup to submit an idea for its options chain in yesterday morning’s report, and those ideas returned immediate opportunities for single-session profits.

We’re used to bucking the trend when we see a good enough chance, and this was a perfect example. Even as the market itself logged another day of losses, Hershey performed just as we’d hoped. Our targets were the HSY Weekly $102-104 Calls, and they all returned sizable gains on the day:

$102 Calls – Range: 2.79-5.60 – Max Gain: 101%
$103 Calls – Range: 2.25-4.47 – Max Gain: 99%
.$104 Calls – Range: 1.40-3.70 – Max Gain: 164%

We’ll continue to monitor these plays, but as it stands, these were some really good ideas to kick off the trading week amid some touchy conditions overall.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: HSY Options & More

The Hershey Co. HSY

We’re looking at one of the biggest players in the Halloween candy game in Hershey as we kick off a fresh trading week. The company reported its Q3 earnings on Thursday, and despite a frosty reception from Wall Street, we are liking the look of this play.

The company asserts that it is on a good path, having had what the CEO calls a game changing year. While the stock did see its biggest daily loss since 2016 on Thursday following the report, it did not turn into a multi-day slide. Coupled with what looks to be another rebound day for the markets at large, and we’re interested in signaling a few HSY Calls.

We’ll place the HSY Weekly $102-104 Calls on watch this morning.

____

Bonus Idea:
Nutanix, Inc. NTNX 01/18 $42.50 & $45 Calls

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY)

On Tuesday, we noted that with such a sharp and rapid downturn in the markets, that a rebound was certain to be in the cards for the SPY. It led us to signal interest in the SPY 10/31 $275-277 Calls, which will certainly be in play today as the SPY is gapping up big this morning in the premarket.

We’ll be back tomorrow morning with a recap of what is likely to be a cleanup session for these plays today.
