Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Fresh Options Ideas & More

Gilead Sciences, Inc. GILD – Options

We’ve been hot on the trail of GILD Calls since Wednesday, when we brought forth the idea of using the $97 and $98 Calls to take advantage of GILD recovery from a beating it had taken following a mixed-result earnings call. Both sets of contracts brought us the chance to make major gains that day, with the 97’s and 98’s making moves of 226% and 253% respectively.

We reaffirmed our interest in those same calls in yesterday’s premarket report, and for the second day in a row, we were extremely pleased with the intraday opportunities afforded to us.

The $97 Calls, after trading as low as .79, would go on to set a daily high of 2.20, a 178% rip. The $98 Calls went on a run from 1.27 to as much as 3.05, a 140% increase.

Cheers go out to anyone else who was able to take advantage of our meticulous coverage of this excellent play this mid-week. It’s just the latest in a long line of great options trading ideas we’ve had so far in 2015, so even if you’ve missed everything up to this point, you’re not too late, because we have no intention of slowing down now!

Fresh Options Ideas

Twitter, Inc. TWTR

Twitter had an earnings beat post-market yesterday, and as a result the stock is gapping up significantly this morning. Our next potential area of interest is going to be with the TWTR $45 Calls. (Last Traded @ 1.00)

LinkedIn Corp. LNKD

Another social media earnings beater was LNKD, and in this case we’re going to be looking at Calls in the $260-263 range.  ($260’s last trade: 2.32 –  $262.50’s last trade: 2.00)

Rich Pharmaceuticals, Inc. RCHA

In addition to yesterday’s successful options plays was a stock we also mentioned in our morning report that went on to behave exactly as we predicted.

After making a huge run that topped 1700% the day prior, we mentioned our expectation that RCHA would pull back off of its extreme highs and offer us a subsequent bounceplay, and indeed it did.

The stock came down as low as .0091 before recovering to a daily high of .019. That was good for gains of up to 109% on the rebound.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: FRO Review & More

Frontline Ltd. FRO

FRO has definitely turned out to be one of our biggest success stories of the past several weeks. Just to refresh people’s memories, we caught this play coming off of some of its lowest prices of the year back on December 1st. Our observed low on FRO was 1.33 at that time, and in two huge upward moves the stock has traversed quite a bit of territory since then.

Yesterday FRO achieved a high of 5.05, which marks a total increase of 280% in just under six weeks! As we did after the initial push, we could now see a possible dip-and-rip scenario. We’ll remain interested provided the stock maintains support at or above the $3-area on the pullback.

As we can see on the chart above, there is a potential Golden Cross in the making, and with tens of millions of barrels of crude to be held on tankers over the next few months given the current oil landscape, this may not be the last time we point to big moves from FRO.

BARCHART.COM is currently giving FRO a “100% Buy” rating.

Twitter, Inc. TWTR – Options

Following up on one of the options ideas we were mulling over on TWTR last week; the TWTR February $40 Calls. When we first mentioned them last Wednesday (Saw a low of 2.15), we mentioned that they “could be in line for significant gains if TWTR continues to recover off of recent lows” and we did in fact see some substantial movement.

Those Feb. $40’s hit a high of 3.70 during the day yesterday, for an overall increase of 72% in a span of just four sessions! Even further gains could be forthcoming provided TWTR continues the current trend, so we’ll want to reserve it a slot on our watchlist as we head into mid-week.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: BIND Recap & More

BIND Therapeutics, Inc. BIND

BIND cropped up on our premarket scanner yesterday in the wake of a post-market PR on Wednesday afternoon, and it put forth a solid move early in the session. It traded as low as 7.40 at the open, and we then witnessed a significant 36% spike to the high-of-day at 10.04.

That initial run was fueled by the release of positive Phase-2 results from one of the company’s many cancer treatments currently in various trial phases, and additionally, an update on guidance for 2015.  >>> READ PR

According to the CEO, BIND expects 2015 “to be a particularly active period” with regard to the development of its many products, so this will be a play that we’ll want to monitor more closely moving forward.

Toward the end of the session yesterday BIND pulled back, and is gapping once again in the pre-market, so we have our eyes peeled for any potential bounce action that could be used in our favor.

Twitter, Inc. TWTR – Options

We’ve also got to update everyone on the options trading idea we put forth earlier this week for TWTR. We mentioned an interest in the Weekly $38 and $39 Calls, and each set of contracts showed us a huge spike during yesterday’s session.

The $38’s traded in a range from .23-1.22, for a chance at monstrous gains of up to 430%, while the $39’s did even better as they ripped from .09 to a high of .54, a move totaling 500%

We also wanted to remind readers of the long-term options idea for TWTR we mentioned in the same report. The February $40 Calls could be in line for significant gains if TWTR continues to recover off of recent lows in the $35-36 range.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: TWTR Options & More

Twitter, Inc. TWTR – Options Ideas

Toward the end of 2014, TWTR underwent a bit of a downturn on the heels of some insider selling and the general sluggishness of the market. The stock was beaten back into the low $35-range, and over the past couple of sessions it has done a good job of rebounding back to its highest level since the end of November. Our interest in TWTR relates specifically to the options chain, as we’ll look to take advantage of the recovery trend that’s currently in effect.

In particular the $38 (Closed @ 1.32) and $39 (Closed @ .83) Weekly Calls are catching our eye for a day-trading idea today. There is key resistance on the chart at the 50DMA 39.35, and in the premarket so far we’ve already seen trades as high as 39.60.  Therefore, we’re watching for some early morning profit taking followed by a rally, where those contracts may provide some intraday trading opportunities later in the day.

For more of a long-term swing-trade idea, we can monitor the February $40 Calls (Closed @ 2.70).

Frontline Ltd. FRO

FRO made a nice move for us after appearing in yesterday morning’s report; the stock traded in a daily range from 2.83 to 3.27 (+15%), and did so on healthy volume to the tune of roughly 9X the 3-month average. We continue to watch FRO this morning as it gaps up in the premarket, with trades already having gone off as high as 3.61, which represents an overall increase of 28% over yesterday’s observed low.

As noted in an article on The Street, some bullish comments made about FRO on CNBC yesterday could be partly responsible for the strong session.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: TWTR Options, ZAZA Earnings & More

Twitter. Inc. TWTR – Options

Part of our attention this morning will be given to TWTR, and, more specifically TWTR calls, as we’re catching the stock in the midst of rebounding off of it’s lowest price point since the end of July. The stock found support just shy of the $40-mark on Tuesday and registered higher lows and higher highs during yesterday’s session.

We’ll look to take advantage of a possible continuation of the trend using the TWTR options chain. The $42 and $43 weekly calls are going to be where we look for intraweek flip opportunities, and for a longer-term swing trade idea, we’ll track the December 12th $44 calls (Last Traded: 1.45).

If TWTR can fill the remaining gap on the chart to the $47-range before 12/12 we could be looking at a 100% increase in those calls from here, so it’s going to be something we’ll pay close attention to over the next month.

ZaZa Energy Corp. ZAZA

ZAZA has us on alert this morning as well; the stock is gapping up heavily on a post-market earnings release that included some interesting figures. The company has a conference call scheduled to begin at 10:00AM EST >>> Listen In via Yahoo! Finance

We’re going to be monitoring this play for an early run-up on the untraded-upon earnings report, followed by a possible dip-and-rip scenario. We’ve sniped out rapid gains on both sides of the fence in situations just like this one, just by staying extra vigilant, so ZAZA will be another interesting play to follow as we close out the week.
