Blue Horseshoe Stocks: MDCN Refocus & More

Pervasip Corp. PVSP

To kick off this short week we’d like to take note of PVSP, a super-subpenny stock that has recently awoken from the dead and begun to show some vigorous swings on the chart. PVSP has been bouncing around in a rough channel between .0002 and .0004 for the past couple of weeks.

Every so often we like to watch super-subpennies like this one for the low-risk-high-reward factor; with little room to fall, the rock bottom prices represent a true ground-floor opportunity. Many times in the past have we caught on with a play in this situation and reaped the benefit of rapid and monstrous upswings. We’ll keep a close eye on PVSP for the possible chance to do it again.

Last week the company announced that it had completed deal that will allow it to write approximately $2M off of its existing debt for an up-front sum of just $100K, and a later payment of $25K in October. >>> VIEW PR

Medican Enterprises, Inc. MDCN

MDCN is a marijuana-related stock that we’ve had on our long term radar for quite some time. Toward the beginning of the year we re-tagged the stock for monitoring and today seems like a good time to focus in more intently on a couple of key points that seem to indicate a possible opportunity ahead.

In addition to a recent property acquisition with potentially exciting implications (PR excerpt below), we’re catching MDCN off of its 52-week low which was just realized on Thursday. Our regular readers are well aware of how fond we are of stocks coming up off of their annual lows. We’ve successfully navigated countless plays in this exact situation, and in many cases have come up with major gains for our efforts.

LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Medican Enterprises Inc. (MDCN), a company seeking promising pharmaceutical and other business opportunities in the emerging medical and recreational marijuana sector, announced that it has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire a 7,200 square foot retail and commercial property in Phoenix, Arizona.

The property is currently leased through August 2018 to an Arizona state licensed medical marijuana dispensary. Per the purchase agreement, the lease agreement will be assigned to Medican. >> FULL PR

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NQ Review & More

NQ Mobile, Inc.  NQ

Our coverage of NQ stretches all the way back to the Fall of 2013 when the stock made a huge run, and we tracked it to a similar albeit smaller-scale spike in October, so we are quite familiar with this play. We have good reason to re-assess NQ this morning in the wake of an interesting PR, coupled with a good positioning of the chart.

In terms of the NQ chart, there a couple of finer points that we’ll point out on the following snapshot:

This morning’s PR relates to a big open market stock repurchase by management which seems to be fueling NQ in the premarket. >>> VIEW PR

Cannabis Coverage:

A few of the marijuana-related stocks we were mentioning yesterday morning managed to put up some solid numbers over the course of the day.

CBIS traded in a range from .068-.08 (+17%) on roughly 4X its monthly average volume.

MCIG did slightly better as recorded a 19% move from .15 to .178, trading more than twice its average volume.

EAPH
also had a heavy volume day to the tune of roughly 3X its average, and made a healthy jump of 21% as it traded from its open at .024 to a high of .029.

As medical and recreational marijuana acceptance continues to spread, we’ll need to keep a close eye on these and many other cannabis plays, as we tend to believe that growth in this arena will be more substantial in 2015 than any previous year.

A few other pot plays to watch this week: WDHR, NRTI, MDCN, LATF, VPOR

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CBGI Update, Form-4 Scan & More

Cannabusiness Group, Inc. CBGI

After adding CBGI to our radar on Monday, (At a low of .0321), and putting the stock on high alert yesterday, we’ve managed to do very well with this new player in the medical marijuana game. If you recall, yesterday, we sounded the alarm on CBGI in our pre-market report, putting it on “high alert” after receiving news that the company had acquired a plot of land in California to commence its plans for a licensed cannabis grow operation. In addition, we pointed out the Golden Cross that was forming on the chart as another reason why CBGI was in a prime position to blow its top.

That’s exactly what took place, as the stock opened at .045, dipped briefly to .041, and the it was off to the races. We saw CBGI run 217% to .13, which also marked an overall gain of 305% from Monday’s low. Following that initial rip, the stock would pull back and bounce several times for added intraday opportunities, and landed us at the top of the Penny Stock Rumble:

Congratulations to anyone who was able to take advantage of the chance for quick-strike profits!

CBGI ended the day at .076 up over 120% from its previous close, and we’d like to see support hold in the .06-.07 range in order for this play to retain our interest. We are still on the cusp of seeing that Golden Cross, so we’ll be keeping an eye on CBGI through to next week, when it looks like that might occur.

Extended Watchlist Winners:

Pixelworks, Inc. PXLW

We’ve got to take a minute to applaud ourselves for another of yesterday’s selections. PXLW appeared in our Extended Watchlist and went on to have a beast of a day. The stock shot up from 6.31 to 9.05, a solid 43% increase, and did so on more than 30x  its 3-month average volume.

Fanny & Freddie (FNMA & FMCC)

Also making several appearances in our recent reports, we like the gains we’ve seen from this mortgage-lending pair. Both stocks have recently come from the $3.00-range and are now trading well over $5.00.

Form-4 Scan

Our regulars know that we periodically like to conduct Form-4 (Insider Trading) Scans, and have gleaned some big winners by doing so in the past (e.g. CETV made a 147% move for us). As a result of the one we ran this morning, we have a couple of stocks we’d like to throw into the mix:

Biodel, Inc. BIOD

BIOD popped up after several company officers filed their form-4’s which denote an exercise price of 3.37 (Currently trading in the mid-3.40’s), so we’ll be placing this one on our radar for sure. For our readers who may not be as well-versed, let us explain the significance. While Form-4’s reflecting the acquisition of shares by insiders shouldn’t be taken as a definite sign of something big brewing behind the scenes, it does suggest a certain in-house confidence in the stability of a stock that we like to see. It never hurts to put a stock on watch just in case there is something bigger going on.

Career Education Corp. CECO

The other one we spotted on this scan was CECO. A good number of Form-4’s have been submitted over the course of this week, so we’ll be throwing this one up on our radar sceens as well.

Side Note:

MLCG and MDCN are a couple of longer-term marijuana stocks that we think folks should have on their watchlists.
