Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Fresh Options Ideas, VAPE Recap & More

Fresh Options Ideas

The markets made a notable upturn following yesterday’s Fed meeting from which we learned that it will be proceeding with caution regarding a potential interest rate hike. The floundering world economy as well as trouble with low inflation domestically were cited as reasons behind the reticence. Despite the note of uncertainty, there is nothing ambiguous about the overall market sentiment at present, which is leading us to formulate some bullish ideas on the options-trading front.

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY)

We’ve enjoyed tons of success trading SPY options in the past when we need a close analog of the markets as a whole, so it stands to reason that we call out a new idea for some SPY Calls this morning. We’re going to be paying attention to the SPY Weekly $204-206 Calls.

Apple, Inc. AAPL

AAPL seemed to enjoy a boost in the wake of the US Government’s dismissal of the federal court case which had embroiled the two in recent weeks. After enjoying a steady increases throughout the session, the stock is currently gapping up in the premarket. Our target range here is going to be AAPL Weekly $107-109 Calls.

Ambarella, Inc. AMBA

We flagged AMBA in yesterday’s watchlist and it too produced a bullish session. In addition to being connected with AAPL being a provider of internal hardware for Apple devices, AMBA received an upgrade from analysts at Morgan Stanley. We’ve got a corresponding options idea for this one as well. For this play, we’re looking to the AMBA Weekly $44-46 Calls.

Lulu Lemon Athletica, Inc. LULU

LULU is gapping this morning on the heels of an earnings beat, so we’re going to want to signal some calls here as well. This is another stock whose options chain has provided us with ammunition for extreme gains in the past. We’ll be monitoring the LULU Weekly $62-65.50 Calls.

With everything gapping up in the premarket, we’ll of course be on the lookout for possible dip-and-rip scenarios prior to the execution of any of these ideas.

Vape Holdings, Inc. VAPE

We can officially add VAPE to the list of cannabis-related stocks that we’ve witnessed making appreciable upswings this week. We added it to yesterday’s morning report as another pot-play to keep an eye on, and we’re immediately rewarded with a solid opportunity for some single-session gains.

VAPE traded in a range from .0106 to .017 on the day, giving traders the chance at profits of up to 60% The move came in conjunction with the announcement of another round of debt restructuring and consolidation (>>View PR).

We’ve added new cannabis candidates to our radar each day this week, and we’ll repeat that again today, pinning CANL and MCOA to our watchlist.

Extended Watchlist:
RVUE, WDRP, EARI, GALE, ACAD

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Potential Momentum Plays & More

Skystar Bio Pharmaceutical Company SKBI

SKBI is new to us, and it caught our eye as one we’re going to need to watch over coming sessions. It has recently been trending up on light volume, and we like the setup of the chart; as you can see below there are a number of tech indicators pointing to the possibility of further gains. We’ve got a rapidly strengthening RSI rushing toward the 50-line, along with a recent MACD cross showing sharp upward divergence.

We’re going to want to see SKBI hold the low .60’s range as support going forward to maintain our confidence in its ability to keep stringing together more positive sessions.

Coastal Integrated Services, Inc. COLV

COLV was included in yesterday morning’s extended watchlist as an item of interest, and it did perform well enough for us to leave it on our radar to watch for a possible continuation of momentum.

The stock traded in a range from .0011 to .0015 for a modest 36% intraday burst, and it came in on slightly higher than average volume. In order to hold our attention, COLV needs to continue to establish higher base levels of support so to start with we’ll be looking for it to maintain above yesterday’s .001 swing-low.

Penn Virginia Corp. PVAH

We mentioned PVAH in yesterday’s daily report, and the stock posted a decent intraday performance even despite having been recently delisted from the NYSE and relegated to trading on the OTC.

From an early low of .058 the stock managed a healthy 46% pop, running as high as .0848 on the day. Like the aforementioned play, we want to see PVAH trade no lower than yesterday’s low to keep our interest piqued into next week.

Extended Watchlist:
TALK, BTFL,MCOA, GDPM(coming off lows), SIRG(momentum play)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: TERP Review & More

TerraForm Power, Inc. TERP

TERP was the stock from yesterday’s track list to really catch our attention with a strong intraday performance. The daily low of 8.07 came within the first ten minutes of trading and we’d see a run to 9.89; a 23% pop.

We’d characterize that as a solid single-session gain for a stock in this price range. It maintained the majority of its daily advance, and did so on roughly eight times its 3-month average volume.

The whole event was apparently caused by a surge in investor interest based on the comments of high-profile hedge fund manager David Tepper  as well as an analyst upgrade. There’s also been a recent influx on attention for the energy sector as a whole. It will be very interesting to see how the stock forges ahead, especially when this morning’s PR (Link to PR) is added to the equation.

Monarch America, Inc. BTFL

We’ve also taken notice as a stock we tagged for tracking last Monday has built up a good head of steam and gone on a nice two-day run this week. BTFL saw a low of .0021 on Monday, and yesterday reached a high of .0094 which marks a swing of 348% for this subpenny mover.

We’ll stay on its trail just as long as it continues to build a higher base level of support going forward.

Energy Finders, Inc. EGYF

EGYF is another play we put on our radars early last week that has produced some exciting swing action in recent sessions. When we first put it on our watchlist it was as low as .0055, and subsequently ran to .0082 the following day (+49%).

That was followed by a dip to .004 on Monday morning, before it broke to a high of .0087 yesterday (+117%). We’ll want to continue to keep an eye on it, considering the fact that it has broken prior resistance on its way to new highs.

Fresh Options Idea – Yahoo, Inc. YHOO

We’re going to signal a range of options contracts that we find attractive this morning as well. YHOO is gapping up in the premarket, so we’re going to be on the lookout for activity in the Weekly $34-35.50 Calls.

Extended Watchlist:
MCOA, LEXG, VTCQ, TTCM,
