Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DRIO Update & More

LabStyle Innovations Corp. DRIO

After bringing us cumulative gains of nearly 150% over the course of two spikes since we first picked up on DRIO back on on August 26th, the stock continued to pile on the opportunities yesterday.

We saw it open at a .13 and make a solid 26% intraday run to .164 just prior to the close on nearly twice the one-month average volume. The chart still looks very good, with the RSI just having crossed above oversold status, and the MACD looking bullish as well. As we’ve pointed out below, we caught the bottom on this one perfectly, seeing a steady uptrend since our first tag of DRIO.

Hemispherx BioPharma, Inc. HEB

HEB showed continued resilience in coming up off recent lows after appearing in yesterday morning’s extended watchlist. The stock would trade in a range from .303-.364 on more than 12x the average volume. That was good for a modest yet solid intraday run of 20% and we’ll continue to keep it on our radar moving forward.

Yesterday’s run was fueled in part by the announcement that the company would be working with USAMRIID (U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease) in studying the effectiveness of two drugs against the ebola virus. >>>Read PR Here

Alkame Holdings, Inc. ALKM

We’re observing significant trading action from ALKM in the pre-market this morning, catching it off one of our routine scans. We noticed the company had a notable distribution agreement in Hawaii this morning which you can >>Read Here. One look at the chart shows that ALKM has recently been recovering from its 52-week lows. This is a stock that we will definitely want to put on our radar as we head into mid-week.

Extended Watchlist:
LUNA, SCOK, CRNT, THLD, CTIC

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PBR, RSH & Extended Watchlist

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – Options

Our continuous tracking of the PBR option chain never seems to go very long without offering up significant opportunities.  Beginning on August 20th, we placed the Jan.17th $19 Calls on watch for a longer-term trading idea. Following that tag, we would observe those contracts trading at a low 1.23.

This week PBR has pushed to new highs, breaking the $19-mark and maintaining it into its close at 19.21, which landed our $19 Calls at 2.25. That represents a one-week increase of 83% and that figure could stand to inflate even further.

Those who have been following PBR with us since March, when we spied a low of 11.25 will be pleased to know that as of yesterday’s new high of 19.32, the overall increase we’ve seen in the stock amounts to 72%

RadioShack Corp. RSH

We reminded readers of our recent bottom call of RSH yesterday morning, having seen the stock touch its 52-week low at .55. Over the last several sessions it had been regaining some ground, and that pattern continued into yesterday as well.

RSH would trade as low as .91 before pushing through a dollar and closing at its high of day at 1.09. That’s an increase of 20% on approximately 7x its 1-month average volume; a strong move. With a close like that, we’ll be looking for some of the momentum to carry over.

Yesterday’s closing price represents an increase of 98% over our observed low of .55.

Extended Watchlist:
LAS, SGOC, ETRM, CREG, OIBR, SCOK, COBR

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: PLUG, BIOF, PEIX & More

Yesterday we saw money leaving the Solar Sector from profit taking, and it seems we’ve found new stocks that are heating up quickly, in the Energy Sector.

Plug Power, Inc. PLUG
PLUG first appeared in our reports back on February 15th. After being featured again in March 15th’s report, trading as low as .1161 at the time, and making its way up to .3177 by the 20th. That marked a gain of 174% Following that run, it pulled back to find support in the .15-range a few weeks ago.

Yesterday, the stock broke both the 100DMA (.28), its previous high at .3177, touched .3278, and closed just above the previous high at .318. We’d ideally like to see support hold at .318. Should it fall below that, we’ll need PLUG to hold support at .26-.285 in order for us to remain interested.

We’ve pointed out several key aspects of the chart below:

Continuing our theme of energy plays, here is a group that will be high on our watchlist today:
BIOF, PEIX, SCOK, FXEN,

BIOF and PEIX are some old-time favorites of ours in the ethanol sector. These two stocks generally tend to trend together, and have given us the opportunity for several gains over the long timespan we’ve covered them.

SCOK is a coal company that has recently gained some momentum, we want to keep an eye on that one today as well.

FXEN is a NASDAQ-listed energy play that also set off our scanners yesterday, as it enjoyed quite a fruitful trading session. Like the others, we want to keep an eye peeled for continuation of existing momentum.

We’d also like to congratulate ourselves for our stellar call of TCPS, which made a beauty of a run from .0025-.0061 (+144%), it then dipped back to .0045 and ran another 36% back to .0061, for cumulative intraday gains of 180%

It also made us the winners of yesterday’s Penny Stock Rumble:
