Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AVEO Recap & More

AVEO Pharmaceuticals, Inc. AVEO

Swinging back around to discuss AVEO is our top order of business this morning after the stock soared to new highs yesterday. We placed this stock on watch on June 23rd, subsequently mentioning it several times.

On the day of our initial alert, AVEO traded for as little as 1.05 per share, and after multiple weeks in a near-contnual uptrend, the gains have been fantastic. Yesterday AVEO reached new four year highs of 3.19, marking an overall swing of 204%

Volume over the same period has been greatly heightened, and yesterday’s close at 3.15 was a strong one, so even though AVEO has had momentum-mover status for several sessions, we’re going to want to continue to watch it closely.

Inotek Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ITEK

We’re always looking for a good bottom-bouncer, which is why we want to take note of ITEK this morning after disappointing study results on the company’s eye drug sent shares tumbling yesterday.

As we point out on the chart snapshot below, the stock has been beaten back into oversold territory, leaving a big gap on the chart. We’ll place it on watch for the filling of that gap, which from present pricing would spell gains of up to 60%

Extended Watchlist:
ATNM, HK, FOLD, TEUM, JAGX, MSDI, OCUL

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: TEUFF Recap, Options & More

Box Ships, Inc. TEUFF

For the second day in a row yesterday, TEUFF provided us a chance at appreciable intraday gains. On Wednesday, following its inclusion in our premarket report, the stock traded in a solid range from a low of .018 to .0276 for a 53% jump that day.

The momentum continued, spilling over into yesterday dipping slightly in the morning to .0246 before ripping its way up to .035. That worked out to an intraday move of 42%, and an total increase of 94% over our observed low from Wednesday morning.

It marked the fifth consecutive session that TEUFF has posted higher highs and higher lows, and we’ll stay hot on its trail for as long as it continues to do so.

Ocular Therapeutix, Inc. OCUL

We tagged OCUL for observation yesterday as well, and it made a modest but notable move itself, from a low of 5.09 to 5.95; a 17% jump. Perhaps the biggest story with this play is the massive amount of buying that flowed into the stock in a single day. At 7M shares traded, it fell just a tad shy of its all-time single-session volume record (02/15/16, 7.2M).

With that kind of accumulation in effect, we’ll want to leave a slot on our radars open for OCUL in sessions to come.

Viper Energy Partners VNOM

We’re noticing a potential opportunity with VNOM this morning, a stock that is showing some signs of life after what has been a rough couple of weeks. We’re also taking notice of a huge Form-4 buy that came in earlier in the week, to the tune of $31M at an execution price of 15.60.

Yesterday the stock broke the 200DMA in a bullish manner, and it appears to be filling the gap on the chart left by the recent  backslide. We’re going to track this play for the possibility of an extended recovery, and also tag the VNOM 09/16 $15 and 17.50 Calls for observation.

Extended Watchlist:
CBR, SGMO, RAX, EPE, MRK, STAF

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ASTI, TEUFF Reviews & More

Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. ASTI

We’ve been quite familiar with ASTI in the past, and circled back around to it yesterday morning, in time to catch what was ultimately one heck of a solid session.

We had noticed it recently producing some bottom-bounce action, along with a huge increase in volume and they proved to be huge indicators of a continued surge. The stock traded in a range from .051-.0779, for a healthy 53% jump, and maintained well over half of that gain into the close at .074.

We’ll definitely want to see ASTI take a run at its previous swing highs of .085 and .119, followed by the 50DMA of .13, as pointed out in the chart snapshot here:

Time Warner, Inc. TWX – Options Update

We brought an options trading idea to the table yesterday morning in the wake of an earnings beat for Time Warner, the TWX Weekly $77-79 Calls, and every set of contracts in the range performed really well, with each one yielding a multi-bag gain opportunity on the day.

$77 Calls – Range: .76-2.06 – Max Gain: 171%
$77.50 Calls – Range: .59-1.57 – Max Gain: 166%
$78 Calls – Range: .37-1.37 – Max Gain: 270%
$78.50 Calls – Range: .20-.65 – Max Gain: 225%
$79 Calls – Range: .09-.69 – Max Gain: 422%

With news hitting in the post-market yesterday that TWX will be taking up a 10% stake in Hulu, it will be interesting to see how the activity unfolds from here.

Box Ships, Inc. TEUFF

Another inclusion in yesterday’s premarket report was TEUFF, which, similar to ASTI, was in the midst of a spike in upward momentum off of a recent bottom. We were banking on seeing some of that carry over into yesterday’s session, and that’s just what happened.

TEUFF traded up from a low of .018 and hit .0276; another 53% intraday gainer for what was a very productive day all around.
