Blue Horseshoe Stocks: NVAX, NQ & More

Novavax, Inc. NVAX

NVAX is the latest Ebola-related stock to catch our eye, and while the initial fear that was driving a lot of these plays has calmed as people realize that the virus doesn’t exactly spread like wildfire, there is much being made of efforts to find a working vaccine and NVAX is attempting to answer that call.

The company announced today that it had presented at the 8th Vaccine and ISV Conference in Philadelphia on Sunday on what was called the first Ebola Vaccine Candidate based on the 2014 Guinea strain that caused the current outbreak in West Africa.

The company said it expects to begin Phase I testing by December, so we’re going to add NVAX to our watchlists for the time being. Additionally, the stock is gapping up to the tune of 10% here in the premarket, and the chart appears to have the possibility of a Golden Cross in the making.

NQ Mobile, Inc. NQ

This is a play we’ve tracked continuously since late this spring. After witnessing a nice move back in July from the low $4-range to the mid-$7’s, the stock had been under general consolidation until it found and bounced off of support about 6 weeks ago. It has made a nice steady recovery from that point on, and is gaining more traction this morning as it gaps up in the premarket on the heels of a PR.

The mobile security has just company submitted the necessary back-filings to once again become fully compliant, and no anomalies or adverse findings were uncovered, which adds another dimension to this play.

We also like the space NQ operates in- with mobile devices permeating every aspect of the current culture, the need for mobile security services such as those provided by NQ only stands to grow in the future.

Side Note:
PTIE, DRRX (Two that are gapping down significantly; we will want to watch for an eventual bounce)

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CNET Recap & More

ChinaNet Online Holdings, Inc. CNET

CNET made an excellent move following its inclusion in yesterday’s morning report, as the stock would go on to trade in an impressive range from  a low of 2.41 up to a new annual high of 3.98 on nearly 34x its one-month average volume. The strong 65% intraday run came in the first hour of trading, so folks had the chance at some very rapid, very substantial gains. Congrats if you were among them!

Direxion Daily Jr Gld Mnrs Bear 3X ETF (JDST)

We introduced JDST as a way to leverage against the falling prices of gold yesterday, and it’s working out in our favor so far. This ETF didn’t waste any time Monday morning, as it began a morning ascent that would last all day and carry it from a low of 14.65 to 16.88, a modest yet solid gain of 15%

We’ll have our eyes on this one for as long as it appears that the dollar will continue to strengthen.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AVOP, CETV, PBR Options

AV1 Group, Inc. AVOP

We’ve been tracking AVOP for a few weeks now, having already seen some pretty impressive moves from the stock. Our initial alerts lead to gains in excess of 200%, and we saw another spike yesterday which led to AVOP coming down to .0012 from a high of .0027.

The stock closed out the day at .0016, and it seems to be searching for a bottom, so we’ll be monitoring for that eventuality. As volatile as trading in AVOP is, a properly timed bottom play could yield significant gains.

In order to remain interested in AVOP, we’ll want to see it hold support at or above its recent base range of .001-.0012.

Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. CETV

It’s been quite some time since we caught CETV on a Form-4 scan back in 2013. We followed the stock to highs well over 6.00 back in October.

After searching out a bottom, CETV again surged from the 2.10-range to the 3.40’s from November, and leading up to the beginning of 2014.

The stock produced yet another spike at the end of February that carried it from under 3.00 to nearly 5.00.

We come across this play as it is once again in a bottom-searching pattern. With the kind of moves this thing has made for us in the past, popping after big consolidations, we would be remiss to ignore its potential once it does find solid support and a subsequent rebound.

Petroleo Brasiliero SA (Petrobras) PBR

The PBR options chain has been very kind to us in recent months. When we first introduced this play on March 21st, the stock was trading at a low of 11.25.

It seems every time we called out our interest in a particular set of contracts in the weeks that followed, the gains would pile on, often to the tune of 100% or more. A quick scan through our PBR archive will confirm just how many times we took advantage of this stock’s recovery.

After peaking at a high of 14.87 on April 8th, the stock came back to bounce off support at 12.98 on April 15th.

Since then, it has been testing the boundary at $14, and hit a high of 14.03 yesterday, and already in the pre-market the stock is trading as high as 14.10, so we’ll try to take advantage of the trend using options.

We’ll be monitoring the $13.50 and $14 Weekly Calls throughout the rest of the week for potential dip-and-rip opportunities.
