Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Bottom-Watch Play & More

Aytu Bioscience, Inc. AYTU

We’re always on the lookout for a bargain, and we may have a prime bottom play opportunity in AYTU in the near future. The stock has been on the downtrend for a couple of months, and is presently very heavily oversold.

We’re going to put this play on our radar and watch carefully for a bottom-bounce which appears to be imminent. Gaining back even half of the ground its recently lost would mean more than a dounble from the current PPS.

SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY)

We’re also looking at the SPY today after a lackluster finish to last week. Market sentiment still appears to be bearish as we ready ourselves to kick off this fresh trading week.

We are going to be tracking a set of bearish options, particularly the SPY 10/08 $288.50-$287.50 Puts. Keep in mind that these expire at the end of the day, thus should be treated as weekly options on a Friday. Only expert traders with disposable income should attempt these kinds of trades.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: AAP, NPTN & More

Advance Auto Parts AAP – Options

We have a confluence of favorable conditions to look AAP for potential options trades as we kick off a new trading week this morning. As of the end of last week, the stock was trading very near to its annual lows , and has a significant gap on the chart to the upside. Combine that with the company’s strong earnings report including a solid beat on profits, and we’re interested to see where this one will take us.

To try and take advantage of the present scenario, we’re going to tag both a shart and a longer term set of ideas, in the event that the stock sees an extended recovery, as the the chart setup suggests it might. We’ll be looking to AAP Weekly $85-95 Calls, and the 01/19 $95-105 Calls.

NeoPhotonics Corp. NPTN

We also would like to go over the move made by NPTN after we signaled it for observation last Monday morning. Subsequent to that point we ‘ve witnessed a respectable run from a low of    5.10 to a high of 6.66, a gain of 31%

We saw the stock record higher lows every single day last week, and will look for that trend to continue. If the stock can break the double top formation that’s currently on the chart, we could be in line to see much more significant gains.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ANF Review & More

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. ANF

We’ve been going heavy on the options front all week, and one of the fresh ideas we came up with for our premarket report yesterday morning, were the ANF Weekly $10 & $11 Calls.

Despite posted losses on their earnings report, they still beat the expectation, and the move the stock made facilitated some pretty nice gains in our highlighted contracts. The $10 Calls traded in a range from .60 up to 1.48 for a 146% rip, while the $11 Calls ran hard from .11 to .53, marking a stellar move of 382%

We’re seeing another premarket push this morning, so we’ll definitely want to continue to track the activity* here as we close out another trading week.

* We don’t include mentions of weekly options contracts on a Friday without explicitly warning our readers every single time. Trading weekly options at the end of the week is an exceedingly risky proposition that should never be attempted by beginning or novice traders!

MoSys, Inc. MOSY

We included a mention of MOSY in yesterday morning premarket report, and while it didn’t necessarily produce a blockbuster run, its intraday performance was respectable.

We saw the stock trade up from an early low of 1.06 and reach 1.35, which comes out to a modest 27% rise. It did so on volume to the tune of more than 14X the monthly average.
