Blue Horseshoe Stocks: DE Options Recap & More

Urban Outfitters, Inc. URBN – Options Rehash

We have been hitting one home run after another with our options ideas recently, and kept the trend going on Wednesday before the holiday break. We offered up the Deere & Co. DE Weekly $143-146 Calls as a fresh idea for the day in our premarket report, and it turned out to be another good one.

All but one of the contracts contained within our highlighted range recorded single-session gains exceeding two hundred percent!

DE Weekly $143-146 Calls
$143 Calls –
Range:  .82-2.50 – Max Gain: 205%
$144 Calls – Range:  .50-1.53 – Max Gain: 206%
$145 Calls – Range:  .30-1.00 – Max Gain: 233%
$146 Calls – Range: .19-.53 – Max Gain: 220%

From the looks of things this morning , we could actually end up seeing these ranges extended even further. Just be aware that the normal extreme risk associated with trading weekly options on a Friday is heightened even more in a half-day scenario like today.

General Electric Co. GE – More Options Ideas

We’ve been watching GE try to find a bottom for more than a month now, and finally, we’ve got a coupls solid signals that this could be the moment we were waiting for. Not only did the stock make a moderate rebound off of its newly-registered 52-week lows, but we’ve also noticed an enormous tranche of insider buying.

An order for 3M shares was executed earlier this week in the amount of roughly $53M. You don’t generally tend to see that kind of money sunk into a stock by someone in-the-know, unless they’re fairly certain that the current support will hold.

As a result, we are going to signal a range of options ideas here as well for a longer-term recovery play, with the targets being the GE 01/19 $18-19 Calls.

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: ECYT Recap & More

Endocyte, Inc. ECYT

We took notice of ECYT yesterday morning during our routine premarket scan, and due to some abnormal activity, we decided to include it in the daily watchlist.

It turned out to be a splendid idea, with the stock ultimately recording a hugely bullish session. ECYT traded from its low of 1.63 just following the open, to its high of 3.75 just prior to the close. It worked out to a single-session rip of 130% and it came on over 180X the monthly average volume. The stock has also hit a new high of 6.07 in the premarket this morning, pushing our observed move in less than 24 hours to a whopping 272%

It was especially impressive because of the timing, which couldn’t have been any better. Prior to yesterday’s session the stock was stagnating for several months. The move was catalyzed primarily by the announcement of the completion of a worldwide license on the company’s prostate cancer treatment, which will be moving on to Phase III development. Rigel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. RIGL

Speaking of solidly-timed calls on pharma plays, we also caught RIGL and included it in yesterday’s premarket report. It didn’t see the type of move that the previously mentioned stock, but got off to a respectable start.

RIGL traded in a range from 2.85-3.42, a modest rise of 20%, but did so on nearly 17X the monthly average volume, and closed near its high of day. We’ll continue to observe this play to see if it can establish a sustained uptrend.

Capricor Therapeutics, Inc. CAPR

We were just updating our readers yesterday morning on the moves CAPR had made since we had alerted it onSeptember 20th from its low of 1.80.

What followed was another nice session for the stock, which ran to a new high of 4.25; a total increase of 136% in a span of just eight trading days.

Tiffany & Co. TIF – Options Update

We also want to quickly update readers on our TIF options ideas that we submitted on the morning of September 28th, the TIF 10/20 $92-93 Calls. The stock has been in a continuous bullish pattern since then, and those calls made some pretty nice gains in the process.

$92 Calls – Range: 1.00-2.13 – Max Gain: 113%
$92.50 Calls – Range: .85-1.74  – Max Gain: 105%.
$93 Calls – Range: .83-1.88 – Max Gain: 127%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: CAPR Recap & More

Capricor Therapeutics, Inc. CAPR

We included CAPR in yesterday’s premarket watchlist after noticing some abnormal volume and price action in the stock during the previous session. Prior to that it had been trading sideways for more than a month.

It turns out our alert came just in the nick of time, because yesterday CAPR exploded for its largest single-session spike in years. The stock opened at 1.50 and managed to run as high as 2.65, filling a good portion of the large gap on its chart, left in May. It came out to an intraday push of 77% which came on monstrous volume of just under 80 times the monthly average.

SPDR S&P500 ETF (SPY)

We discussed tracking the SPY Weekly $249.50 & $250 Calls as conditions appeared favorable to another bullish day for the market in general. The fund made a pretty solid move during the session, and that produced some decent opportunities in our designated contracts.

The $249.50’s traded from .55 to a high of .83 (+51%), while the $250’s did slightly better with a run from .29 to .49 (+69%) just before lunch hour.

Helios and Matheson Analytics, Inc. HMNY

We last tagged HMNY on August 15th, and after a solid run, the stock went under consolidation for a few weeks. However, the downturn ended at the end of last week and the move it’s made since has been pretty impressive.

HMNY saw a low of 2.42 on Thursday, and yesterday the stock achieved a new high of 6.40. That represents a four -session upswing of 164% while volume over the same period has been significantly increased.

HTG Molecular Diagnostics, Inc. HTGM

We’re interested to track HTGM today after the company announced the issuance of two method patents on its technology. We’re seeing a moderate gap-up in the premarket, but there still appears to be the good chance for a solid upside here. The stock does have a recent history containing a huge spike to more than $12.

We’ll place it on watch, and look for it to establish a string of sessions recording higher highs and higher lows moving forward.
