Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Multiple Updates

JB Hunt Transport Services, Inc. JBHT

The most interesting options trading candidate we are seeing from the pool of un-traded upon earnings reporters is JBHT, which dropped an extremely solid quarterly in the post-market yesterday. The company beat on earnings, year-over-year revenue, and bested expectations on guidance as well.

We are going to track a pair of contracts, the JBHT Weekly $95-100 Calls to try to take advantage of the resulting activity.

CORRECTION: Reviewing Friday’s Winners:

Yesterday, through a small error, our newsletters went out without the proper figures for our options ideas on Friday. Here are the correct gain totals.

SPDR S&P500 (ETF) SPY Weekly $299-300 Calls
$299 Calls – Range: .67-1.75 – Max Gain: 161%
$299.50 Calls – Range: .34-1.20 – Max Gain: 252%
$300 Calls – Range: .13-.75 – Max Gain: 477%

Cigna Corp. CI Weekly $167.50-175 Calls
$172.50 Calls – Range: 1.26-4.30 – Max Gain: 241%
$175 Calls – Range: 3.70-6.55 – Max Gain: 77%

American Electric Technologies, Inc. AETI

We try to keep running tabs on everything we mention in our daily reports, and in AETI we have a stock that we tagged for observation at the end of May. In the seven ensuing weeks, the stock has more than doubled.

We observed a low of .60 in AETI subsequent to our initial alert and the stock managed to register a new high of 1.45. That works out to an overall rise of 142% and was good for the #2 spot on the NASDAQ gainers list for the day. If it can break previous resistance at 1.61, it will officially be in blue sky territory.

Tautachrome, Inc. TTCM

Our OTC play from yesterday morning was indeed a runner. The stock made an intraday move from a low of .0103-.0197, which marks a 91% gain on what amounted to more than five times the monthly average daily volume.

The extreme volatility here, like the options plays we select, is what makes this attractive to us as short-term traders. We’ll continue to keep an eye on TTCM for any other possible swing trade opportunities.

Taronis Technologies, Inc. TRNX

One we’ve been watching since Monday of last week is TRNX, which was trading for as little as .1832 following our most recent update.

It trended up to and closed at a high of .35 yesterday, and so far in the premarket this morning it has reached as high as .53. That’s an incredible swing of 189% inside of a week! We’ll want to see previous resistance at the 50DMA to hold as support on any pullbacks.

Extended Watchlist:
OSTK, OBLN, MARK, DSS, MLNT, BPTH, NVCR, CGIX

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Closing Out a Strong Week

Kandi Technologies Group Inc. KNDI – Recap

On Wednesday morning, we were looking at a pair of contracts in the KNDI options chain. We did see multi-bag gains out of those as mentioned in yesterday’s morning report, but perhaps just as big of a story is the move that KNDI stock itself managed in the two sessions since that alert.

From a low of 7.16 Wednesday morning, to yesterday’s high of 9.21, KNDI has managed to rattle off a 29% session-over-session increase. That’s a heck of a two-day swing for a $7+ stock, and will keep our interest as we close out the week.

This move was catalyzed by the US approval of two of the Chinese company’s electric vehicles.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the domestic go-ahead to KNDI’s Model EX3 and Model K22 electric cars.

Dominos Pizza, Inc. DPZ – Recap

We went bearish with some Dominos Puts yesterday, following a particularly bad quarterly release by the company in yesterday’s premarket earnings dump. Earning and revs were big misses, with same store sales making only a marginal jump.

We signaled our interest in tracking the DPZ Weekly $270-260 Puts and both of those sets of contracts recorded solid intraday moves to the upside, of which traders could have taken advantage. The $270 Puts ran from 12.02 to 20.50, marking a 71% rip, while the $260 surged even more, trading in a range from 4.99-12.84 for an intraday gain of 177%

Blue Horseshoe Stocks: Options Roundup & More

Options Roundup

All of our earnings-related options ideas from yesterday’s report saw increases during the session, so we want to kick things off today by going over those performances, as well as formulating another fresh idea.

FedEx Corp. FDX- Our idea for FDX was less about the earnings figures themselves which fell short of expectations, and more about the buoyed guidance. The investment community at large felt the same way, and as a result FDX made a really nice intraday run from just above $193, to just below $196. That allowed for our ideas, the FDX Weekly $192.50-200 Calls, to put up the following gains:

$192.50 Calls – Range: 1.86-3.96 – Max Gain: 113%
$195 Calls – Range: .90-2.96 – Max Gain: 218%
$197.50 Calls – Range: .29-2.37 – Max Gain: 717%
_____

Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobras) PBR – An analyst upgrade coupled with a solid earnings report led us to signal a range of PBR calls yesterday. We mentioned the fact that we’ve had a ton of success on countless occasions in the past trading options in this play, and our streak kept on going. We offered both an idea for the weeklies as well as a couple with an April expiration for a longer-term play, (Weekly $9 Calls – 04/21 $9.50-10.00 Calls) and we saw notable gains in all of them:

Weekly $9 Calls – Range: .12-.27 – Max Gain: 125%
04/21 $9.50 Calls
– Range: .26-.34- Max Gain: 33%
04/21 $10.00 Calls
– Range: .14-.19 – Max Gain: 36%
_____

Dollar Tree, Inc. DLTR – We also highlighted the DLTR 04/21 $78-80 Calls, and while they did see marginal increases, it was nothing to write home about just yet. That’s why we just wanted to remind our readers that these are longer-term idea which could take some time to show us the sort of upward moves we’re looking for.
_____

FRESH IDEA:

Snap, Inc. SNAP – Our bearish signal on SNAP Friday led to success in the SNAP Weekly $20 Puts that we were watching. They gained 246% intraday running from .30-1.04.

Today, we want to reverse our strategy and go with some calls, the SNAP Weekly $22-23.50 Calls to be exact.

Moleculin Biotech, Inc. MBRX

We had MBRX in our extended watchlist yesterday, and were pleased with its solid performance on the day. The stock ran from 1.15 to a high of 1.51, which works out to a respectable intraday increase of 31% The move came on immense volume of more than 40X the 30-day average, so we’ll definitely be interested in continuing to track MBRX as we head into the end of the week.
